Market value for us just isn't the same as other clubs' market values.  This is the issue with being simultaneously desperate and the Richest Club In World Football (TM).  We aren't getting anybody from the prem without committing to overpaying

.com seem confident.

Latest: A further bid of £55m for Jorgen Strand Larsen was made by Newcastle and rejected late on Tuesday, but it now appears that agreement is set to be reached on a fee for the Wolves centre forward - more to follow....

In fairness this shouldn't have ever been a case of playing out in this transfer window. We knew pretty highly that we wouldn't retain Callum Wilson, we have had ample time to get scouts in place and lists drawn up which look further than Joao Pedro, Ekitike, Sesko, etc... this one has been a huge ball dropped by the club over a sustained period of time, it's really amateur.

Do they have any sources? I don’t think I’ve ever seen them break news in the 25-30 years I’ve followed that site

Are they not a bit out of touch though? (not to be rude). They haven't even given a source there.

No clue how reliable this African source is but apparently Wolves are about to sign Gents striker.... Opening the door for Larsen to leave?

Apparently we can only fine him 7 weeks and have to pay him for the remaining 45 weeks of the year.

That cannot be right surely, if he's refusing to play for the team he's basically on strike so why pay him a weekly wage.

I think clubs are aware that we can't spend as much as the top clubs. The problem is that we went for some of the top targets in the market, and they chose teams with more spending power. Now we are late for the lower targets, and teams don't have much time to replace them anymore.

So not only have you surveyed every Wolves fan, you've also completed the "How to determine the real value of footballers, 2025 edition" course all in record time. Fair play man.

You can thank me later. Don’t recall saying a consensus of every Wolves fan. Wissa believes he had an agreement to leave if an offer of 25M came in and there’s plenty saying 40M SJL would be more than fair. There’s no doubt the market is skewed and that’s more than partly down to Isak’s antics.

The point I was hoping to make is that we don’t end up losing out by underselling on one hand whilst overpaying on the other. I’m now off down to Wolverhampton High St with my  paper and pencil.

Is this from the same legal eagles that say he can cancel his own contract soon or an actual thing?
