I'm all in after those two goals from last night, like. Those are two very, very good strikers' goals; particularly the first one - not an easy finish at all. He'll score plenty in our team with those instincts, I've no doubt.

Fingers well and truly crossed.

Is 13 & 14 goals a bagsman?

Darren Bent was a bagsman. A number of 15+ seasons, even 20+. Larsen has never hit those figures in any league.

I think context matters; haven’t followed his career but it looks like he’s exclusively played for teams that don’t create massive amounts of chances. It’d be interesting to see his output in a club that’s more attacking and expected to be challenging higher up the table.

Keep our new set piece coach busy as well

He won't be able to press from the front as aggressively as we like and won't have the speed to keep up with the likes of Elanga and Gordon on the counter attacks, that maybe a Wissa would. For that reason I think he wouldn't be the best fit.

But if we changed the way we play to accommodate for more of a target man type, with runners off him and obviously we do get good delivery into the box with the likes of Elanga/Murphy, Barnes, Trippier. So he could fit in ok. The main negative is just the feel and how much that could hinder us in the long-term rather than the short.

But when the argument is him or no one it's hard to argue against it.

£50m is extortionate amout of money for someone thats still unproven

£60m for Wissa is still stupid money

We are bring bent over this summer for fees like

Would rather take it up the arse over a fee than being pummeled by the likes of Burnley all season 1-0

Agreed and his profile of player not favour a team that has a bit more of the ball. Players like Lukaku or Bent are probably better suited to midtable teams than stronger ones

But bidding circa £80m for Ekitike and Sesko represented no risk? We shouldn’t be in this position right now, but due to Isak's cuntishness clubs know we’re desperate. It’s either overpay now or risk going the season with Osula and various wingers playing out of position

No but they are regarded as talents a couple levels above Larsen.

Would still prefer Jackson, just hope we get someone at this stage.

Couldn't get too more different profiles of striker than Strand Larsen and Jackson really, interesting situation.

It feels like Howe might not be sold on Jackson’s personality. The club seems to place real emphasis on character and professionalism (*cough* Isak). There’ve been a few red flags with Jackson; a reckless red card in the Club World Cup, an elbow on Botman that got him sent off, and even a post-match bust-up at Everton where he had to be restrained. Enzo Maresca has also publicly pointed to concerns with his discipline. All that suggests he might not fit the profile we’re looking for.

In contrast we must have received glowing reports on JSL as a person.

I was thinking about it this morning... We could actually do with a different approach in games,  especially when teams sit deeper and allow us to have the ball.  We've got multiple players who can place crosses into the box for him and it might make teams think differently about a low block against us.

He give us a different option, if he does actually join us.

Aye, just think Jackson is the most similar profile to Isak we can get. Obviously he’s nowhere near as good.

I’d be happy (you know what I mean) to see the back of Isak if we end up with Strand Larsen and Jackson in his place

While I also have doubts about JSL's price tag, let's hope he would do well if the deal goes through. Liverpool paid Wolves 45m for Jota in 2021, there were a lot of doubts at the time but it proved to be a bargain. If you factor in inflation, 45m in 2021 is probably 60-65m in 2025. That's a range I think Wolves would likely accept.

Transfer fee aside, JSL's salary at Wolves is rumoured to be 15k/week which would be very positive to our salary structure, even if we offer him 50-100% more.
