Mitchell was right our scouting and recruitment isnt fit for purpose

he did so much good here, miss his presence so much. His ever lasting legacy will always be a bright spot for us to look back on.

Is one good PL season enough to call someone a proven at PL level? Plenty of players have had a decent return in a single season that are nowhere near good enough for a club in the CL. Glen Murray, Mitrovic, Jay Rodriguez, Graziano Pelle, Ighalo, Deeney have all scored around 14 goals in a single season over the last 8 or 9 years. You'd have been mental to drop a significant sum on any of those.

Agreed. Miggy nearly scored that many in one month a few years back.

Guess Jackson is our only realistic option now? Wolves and Brentford have no desire to sell whatever the price, which is understandable. Chelsea will probably fucking rinse us for £70-80m though :anguish:

Vardy has gone abroad, so a hated Isak and Osula as back up looking odds on till at least Jan.

Its miles off. If it was anywhere near coherent enough, we'd have had him last season when he went to Wolves on loan with an option to buy. Instead were trying to pay silly money based off one PL season.

Jackson has one foot in the door at Bayern

They’ve been in active negotiations this past week. Doesn’t add up Orny boy.

Exactly. You don’t have extensive discussions with another club, if there’s no intention to sell.

However, it might be not selling is the conclusion they’ve eventually come to, so even if they’re spinning it to try and look like that’s always been the case, we’ll ultimately have to…. move on.

Surely we can’t go into the season with no striker? We’ve had all summer to replace Wilson and we’ve known about the Isak nonsense for the same amount of time, by all accounts.

Looking like a very realistic possibility now. Shambles.

Sounds about right. We are suffering big time by not having an experienced DOF in place who would read the room better.

I know you’re not referring Mitch! the experience of a man who fucked up a simple deal with Burnley and pissed them off to no end, pissed off Isak’s camp by telling him to jog on when he was happy here and one who chased Guehi for a month telling everyone who’d listen he’d have it done when Parrish was never selling him. Glad he read all those rooms so well. A beacon of brilliance.

I think we might actually go into the new season with no striker now. Jackson's price will now be hiked up and we'll probably walk away and pin our hopes on Isak getting back onboard.

I wasn't referring to Mitchell at all, if I was I would have named him directly. As far as I'm concerned we've been operating without a DOF for a year now.

Just go cheap(er) and address the striker in one of the next 2 windows. Accept & own the fact we've fucked up not yet replacing Wilson with only a few days to go, get a competent DOF & CEO in and say a prayer for the next 4 months.

Even if Isak hadn't thrown his strop, we still needed a Wilson replacement, they've had plenty time to get at least one striker through the door, yes they've tried but it will be very stupid to go into a huge season with a half arsed Isak & Osula.

Even if we did sweet talk Isak around, they are still not enough for 4 competitions

Yeah look at all the shite we've signed. And only a shitty carabao cup and 2 CL qualifications to show  for it. Every player we've signed has dropped in value.
