I'd rather buy whoever is the best striker in Ligue 1 besides PSG, whoever that may be.

Probably would cost a lot less.

Top scorers in Ligue 1 beside PSG last season:

Mason Greenwood - stats is quite good, attitude is an issue, likely to be expensive because Man Utd inserted a sell-on clause of 40-50%

Kalimuendo - transferred to Nottingham

Jonathan David - transferred to Juventus

Lacazette - transferred to Saudi league

Emegha - this one seems decent, young, quick, powerful with decent finishing, Chelsea rumoured to be interested earlier this summer, worth a try

Ajorque - a bit old and rather slow, but he seems hardworking and his link up play seems good, may worth a try at very low transfer fee

Biereth - product from Arsenal academy, young, shooting seems very good, scored a lot of goals in every team he played, stats in passing/defence are decent, again worth a try

Gouiri - a rather complete forward who can also play on LW, aged 25, however not sure if he got any issue with his attitude, scored a lot of goals for Nice/Rennes/Marseille immediately after joining each team, but stats tend to decline overtime at Nice/Rennes, which could be a red flag

Based on the list I would say we should have some serious bid on Emegha and Biereth

Guess Jackson is our only realistic option now? Wolves and Brentford have no desire to sell whatever the price, which is understandable. Chelsea will probably fucking rinse us for £70-80m though :anguish:

Vardy has gone abroad, so a hated Isak and Osula as back up looking odds on till at least Jan.

Sørloth is available as well and has scored 50 in the past 2 seasons.

There has to be someone thats 22 or 23 in the Brazilian or Argentinian leagues that we can throw £30-£40m at, who has bleached hair, gold boots, neck tattoos and pearly white teeth that could get us 8 goals in all competitions this season.

Lots of games go in transfer deals and briefing press for various reasons.

They may not want to sell but why entertain discussions then?

Could be to placate their fans in the run up to a sale, “we didn’t want to sell but the player made his wishes known and despite acting professionally throughout we didn’t want to risk an unhappy player with a hard campaign ahead”.

Who really knows.

In saying that we should have done all of this a month ago instead of wasting time on Ekitike and Sesko.

Just sign the striker from Belgium that they’re after it’s what the scouse rats would do.

If he's available for £25-30m, I'd much rather take a chance on him than anything else.

A competent striker would get 10 + goals for us. If Wolves signed him for that price and he ends up holding his own in the Premier League, somebody else will pay north of £50m in a year or two. We should be buying them before they cost that, which obviously everyone knows.

Loïs Openda is still allowed to leave Leipzig according to Sky Deutsch.

Would be the striker I would going for. Surely £70m would get this done and think he'd have a better ceiling than JSL and Wissa. Would even rather Muniz for a lower fee.
