There was an Athletic podcast about bomb squads this week, where unwanted players under contract are kept away from the rest of the team, training out of substandard training rooms and at a different time of day. All of the above three were highly compensated in line with their contracts. The club didn’t renege on them. It is a meritocracy as it should be. And as other industries and professions should be.
