Even if it was then logic of Ramsey/Willock filling LW, then we need another CM as we spread ourselves thin there. All has a knock on which needs addressing or we go into season severly light, which is already going to be tested 3 games into the season   Not even got to October/November where we will be fighting on 3 competition fronts every few days.

I don't think Yorkie was saying Gordon is Wilsons replacement. More useful than the Wilson of last season I think he was getting at.

He chopped off the end of my post which confirmed that Gordon as second choice isn't what we ideally want.

 

I maybe overcomplicated the point TBF. I think I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself for the squad being in a state. Finding the positives, Gordon's probably alright as a second choice CF - easily better than Wilson - though clearly it's not what we want.

There are no clairvoyants when it comes to football transfers, complex deals over tens of millions of pounds with numerous moving parts by their very nature are volatile and the whole situation can do a 180 at any given juncture.

There's plenty of crooks in the media who will guess and then backtrack throughout every saga just to appear to be ITK and to monetise wherever possible. Some are better than others.

I'm certain that posters like ShadowPuppets and Ando7 post what they hear in completely good faith for the benefit of the readers in here. Insight from forum users is more beneficial than tweets from shills or client journalists.

I don’t think he’s a Strand Larsen backup. I think we’ve been negotiating with multiple clubs about multiple players.
 

As of this morning my source on this one (close to the player) was confident today was the day for clarity and an expectation it would be done today. Obviously that hasn’t happened for whatever reason and we’ve decided to go with one of our other targets.

 

The notion that we are negotiating with one player at a time, which was pushed by Downie and Edward’s a few times this summer, is obviously bullshit.
