He scored 14 goals in a side that finished 16th, in today's market that does probably make him worth around £60m

I'm not sure this is even first-order thinking.

Really not in favour of it, even if 2 of them are trying to come here. It's really shit.

Also regarding JSL, I know he was on loan for a year but the ink's still wet on his permanent contract. Proper smelly behaviour.

Agree, but maybe on his end it was all signed last summer and the loan was just a PSR move to make it spread over 6 years.

What?

Won't play for them this weekend and has told Wolves he wants to leave:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-15047379/Wolves-Jorgen-Strand-Larsen-Newcastle-move.html

Sources tell Norwegian news-outlet Nettavisen that Newcastle aren't giving up on the signing:

https://www.nettavisen.no/sport/nettavisen-erfarer-newcastle-presser-pa-for-strand-larsen/s/5-95-2592316

Also says we envision Strand Larsen as a #9 and Woltemade as a #10.

Couldn't find any other relevant news posted in the last hour, though, so don't know if the statement about us having had a bid accepted is true or not :dontknow:

To be fair I think he does have a genuine injury. Was mentioned when he came off in their last league game. Was probably why he only came off the bench in the cup game. Just ask Joe Willock what a sore Achilles is like.

Randomly enough, Jan Aage Fjørtoft appears 100% convinced a deal's been made  That and Downie making a big deal out of Woltemade getting #27 instead of #9 were the only things of note I was able to find on X about it from today.

I can’t see us going back in for this guy. £130m on two strikers feels very bad business when we still have depth that needs adding in future windows.

Seems about right to me. Both young with possible future resale value aswell.

Selling Isak will give us some room to manouver in the next windows even if we get both.

Don’t think it gives us a great deal if we signed Larsen for £65m and Isak went for £130m. With the sell on, there’s not much left (if any) considering we’ve spent £190m so far and had a budget of like £150m reportedly this summer.

Sell on was only 10% of the value above his purchase price, not that impactful.

The fee of the new signings are spread out over 5 years while the sale of Isak gets booked into profit instanty(minus sell on and current book value).

JSL hasn't refused to play for Wolves, just in case it wasnt clear, hes got an injury and thats why he might miss their game.

By all accounts he wont kick up a fuss to get a move and thats fair enough.

I just cant see this one happening. Wolves seem adamant hes going nowhere. Its the same as Brentford really, unless either club makes a couple of signings, they arent going anywhere.

Him and Wissa are too expensive now. 35-40 max on another striker. Sorloth still available as are plenty others are reasonable prices, just not in England. Why not steal that Beer guy Brentford are after.

That makes no sense. If we get a second striker Isak is going and we will have just banked over £120 million

Those fees need balancing out over those years, can’t just go with notion Isak balances out this year and we can spend, as future years those payments are due.

Even at 10%, that’s say nearly £7m.

Next summer we need to sign a GK, RB, LB and CB likely at a minimum. Then not long after that, another CM and RW depending on futures of Willock and Murphy as we go into 26/27 season. All on top of new deals needed for many players.
