Feel a bit sorry for Larsen, he went from a dream move and big wages to back down to earth in the space of a few days. Those two well taken goals and his good boy behaviour might have cost him more than he bargained.

It is punishment for being decent whereas Isak acting like a tool gets his dream move - that sends such a bad message

He’ll get a move elsewhere next summer if he has a good season.

Any of the jealous 4 will snap him up just for the sake of it.

Imagine if that's followed up by Wissa moving here as well. Nice guys finish last after all then. :pilko:

Unfortunately this is where football is at. There probably is an element of the "don't sell to Newcastle" pact that the league (except Chelsea, Everton and Villa) seem to have but also those who stamp their feet the loudest get what they want and if you're a good guy who does things the right way, you get treated like a mug.

This doesn't exist. I know it feels like it but trust me it isn't the case. Clubs just want to extract maximum value that's all. For wolves selling him may equate to relegation after all.

It's important to remember Ipswich were ready to sell Delap to us.

Brighton were happy to flog us JP

The list goes on.

On the other hand it took a plethora of absurd circumstances coming together to even get him linked. There’s very little in his record to suggest he’s a starting striker at a CL club.

The notion that we are negotiating with one player at a time, which was pushed by Downie and Edward’s a few times this summer, is obviously bullshit.

Confirmed by Waugh in The Athletic- the club have been spinning multiple striker plates at the same time.

The idea that we were only working on one deal at a time was always ridiculous.

Aye, but it fits the negativity some like to leap on at the slightest chance.

The longer we didn't sign someone went on, the more they could bathe in their bath of misery, and slag off whoever they thought responsible. Mainly Andy Howe, who apparently only has the job because of Eddie.

I would rather Strand Larsen than Wissa.

Two beanpole strikers restricts our options if we want to play both together. You need to have at least one pacy striker to work alongside, so has to be Isak or Wissa for me.

Woltemade and Strand Larsen have completely different attributes, and if we wanted to play with two up top then we would play Woltemade off Strand Larsen.

If we are playing with two strikers on the pitch, it will be because we are struggling to break a team down so we are either behind or they have parked the bus, pace wont help us in that situation.

Not to mention Wissa has a poor attitude and is at an age where there isn’t much room for development.

We still need a striker who has genuine pace as a different option IMO. Personally I don't want two lanky big man strikers, not unless one of them is a Drogba replica. If we aren't getting Wissa then I would rather just keep Isak. Tbh, I'd rather we don't sign anyone else and just keep Isak anyway unless we get enough money for him to justify spending £40-50m on a 29 year old.
