While he seems to come far to deep and start play with his back to goal, he is still the first on in the box through the middle. We just dont pass it back to him.

The above might also be an indicative of how slow our attack was at times today but I was impressed with Woltemade coming to the halfway line to lay off the ball and then bomb it back to upfront. Fair play.

Probably the best pen I've ever seen  Huge for us that he's settled quickly and hit the ground running given the mess that rat fuck put us in. Absolutely has the potential to be an upgrade in the long run too

The pen is outrageous like, don't think I've seen a penalty like it. It's like a golf wedge shot

So nice to see someone have the courage to blast one in top corner. Every decent penalty taker seems to go low these days. Gordon hit a great penalty mid week, but it's not nearly as pleasing on the eye as Woltemades.

If you have the ability and confidence to do it, top bins wins every time.

From nufc.com:

Nick Woltemade scored his third PL goal of the season and now has four in all competitions for Newcastle. He's only the third player to net in each of his first three PL home games for the club, after Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer.

Sir Les went on to score in his first six PL appearances at SJP while Wor Al managed a remarkable 15 game run.

15 games, that's truly mind boggling. 😍

Often forgotten that Shearer pre-ankle injury was absolutely phenomenal.

What I was gonna say. He legitimately was the best striker in the world at that time.

2nd best. No shame in playing second fiddle to Ronaldo though.

When we signed Wolt I watched a video of him and he missed a penalty doing that run up, was a fairly weak pen iirc. Much prefer him putting it high.

Didnt like Gordon taking the pens on Weds, hopefully that was a one off. You striker takes your pens.
