To be fair to him (not that he ever deserves that ), it's very very hard to beat his instinctive finishes. Look at the one in the final for instance. Doesn't look super hard, but few would score that imo, atleast without taking some touches.

NW’s in general play and hold up game is much better than Isaks’s. More consistency and less mistakes overall in this regard. He has proper football IQ and awareness. Prime Isak is obviously a deadly finisher with better pace. Isak has always been inconsistent. Nicka potential is scary as well.

The risk we took with Woltemade was that he had only put in the numbers for a very short period. 

Not many strikers that has performed better than him this calendar year. Excelled at 4 different teams.

 

So if he keeps up his current form, or dare I say even improves from here? I'd say yes.

Agreed. I think given the transition we're in, maybe we've focused on the things he doesn't do as well as Isak could, so it takes time for his teammates to adapt. But just as importantly it also takes his teammates time to adapt to his strengths. 

 

A lot of people weren't too confident going away to Everton, but I think he has such unique skills that if we adapt to what he's good at we'll be such a handful. Reckon the plan was to have a slower transition if Wissa had been fit, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise to have had to accelerate that by necessity. Because this guy really has something different and with his first touch he's so hard to defend against.

The comparisons to Berbatov started off a little tongue in cheek by some but he genuinely is that version of a striker. It just so happens that he’s much better in the air and amazing at hold up play. Not saying he’ll come close to Berbatov over his career but he’s such a similar profile in terms of his touch, deft touches and brain

A few mentions of Keane here, when Burn blocked his shot the commentator said it's well known the Keane is the best finisher at the club.... Poor Everton

The finish was just silly. It being over Little Arms (who is a very good GK) being the icing on the cake.

 

His movement is getting better for what we need but, most importantly, others look to be figuring out how to move around him.

Berbatov with a bit of Harry Kane, the way he drops so deep and covers a lot of the pitch. There's even a bit of Matt Le Tissier in there with the outrageous skill.

Isak offered the pace in behind, that stopped teams pushing up to press. Obviously Wolt offers a lot more in other areas, but if we are doing a comparison then pace is definitely a factor.

Bayern did but thought no one else would dare challenge them for his signature. Lowballed Stuttgart and walked away thinking they’d sign him next season. We had other plans.

It's also incredibly lucky for Nick that Toon brought him in. I don't think he would have experienced such a performance explosion at Bayern. There, he probably would have initially only been a backup for Harry Kane. He would have gotten much less playing time. All of that would have been detrimental to his form. I keep saying it: a win-win deal for Toon and Big Nick.

When it comes to which skillsets that Woltemade excels on compared to Isak, I'd say playmaker attributes, strength and headers.

 

 

 

Woltemade is a much much cleverer passer, so yeah, he's inifinitely better than Isak at playmaking.
