Tino - Thiaw - Burn - Hall

Appatently

Happy with that, I knew he wouldn't want to drop Burn and he's always decent at LCB and Thiaw has the recovery pace to cover his weaknesses. Is Pope definitely out then does anyone know?

If Pope is out, and its due to 'injury', then it almost reinforces what the Geordie Journos said on their YT video. That with certain players, EH won't make the hard decision and drop them, regardless of form or errors, unless forced to (Injury/suspension).

An injury to Pope would be rather convenient, given the noise around giving Ramsdale a chance, and publicly at least, makes it appear that EH hasn't just dropped him (Pope).

If Ramsdale is in today, its up to him to take the chance, and make the position his own and for Pope to fight to get back in.

If Ramsdale dropped a rick today and was replaced straight away I'd be fucking foaming like given Pope's form.

Don't have any issue with that back four tbf

It's fine. Just no sign of us evolving. If Everton have any sense, block the lines to the full-backs and the midfield, make us play long or force to play out through Burn, we'll not really trouble them.

Tbh with you I genuinely don't care about 4th defender, Burn, Botman and Schar are all class in different ways ( I personally don't get the recent Botman criticism)

Whoever the choice, we're good there. The concern I have as is the case almost every week, the midfield and the wide players. Barnes and Murphy looked good against City so I hope they are picked and they keep it up.

If Ramsdale and Thiaw are in the side I think we'll be fine playing out from the back

(I do understand it, though. More aerial prowess, Schär might struggle with three games in a week, etc.)

I’m very happy with that back line. Well cause them a lot of problems going forwards

Bit OTT that. Burn isn’t much of an issue on the ball at CB. Especially if he has Thiaw one side, Hall the other and Ramsdale behind him.

His sloppy play on the ball and inability to play well at LB consistently seems to be clouding people’s judgement. He has been mostly brilliant for us at centre back.
