It's definitely a big opportunity to jump-start the season but there'd still be 16 games left and other results will have an impact on our table position too. I don't think this sort of expectation does anyone's mental health any good. For instance we could draw one - probably two - winning the rest, and that would still have us well in the race, though with a few less favourable fixtures.

Point is, anything can happen between now and full-time in the 38th game.

Well if you can win 4 games on the bounce, it takes the pressure off having to win too many of those last 16. Every game you don't win now just compounds the difficulty later. So yeah, I prefer the pressure of winning the easy games now.

It can, but my point was that we have a lot of catch up. We need to win almost every home game. I dont think we will lose all our away games in February, but its a brutal month.

I’d say we need a result and a performance, but at this point a result with a turgid performance would feel fucking great.  Only Wolves has shitter away form this season, and this is one of the few remaining away games where we would be obvious favourites.  Just fucking win, lads.

"Aye we won 10-0 but it was just Burnley. Wuh still shit"

Sadly I felt similar this time last season too - that I began having a similar desire for us to win to prove the doubters wrong than to simply enjoy the win.

We know how that ended last season. Here's praying for the same again.

It's probably best to just get offline to be honest.

I shouldn't of come back, it genuinely makes the supporter experience worse, even when things are going well.

I’ve mostly swerved the match threads for this reasons. Constant droning about any move that isn’t perfect. Whichever the current hated player is getting slagged from minute one.

Think there will be three changes.

Same back 5.

Willock - Tonali - Joelinton

Murphy - Wissa - Gordon

Be surprised if Pope is back in, think FA Cup game will be his gateway to coming back in, unless Ramsdale makes an almighty error before then.

Tennis, I think?

*Insert joke about aimless long balls back and forward here.

The overwhelming apathy I have towards this game will not even allow me to expend energy on jokes.

Yeah I never touch the match threads. Toys out of prams in real time, nar thanks.

A couple of hours on here is more depressing than the equivalent time in the East Stand.

The amount of times I've been in the match thread and it's the total antithesis of the actual game I'm watching in real time, diametrically opposed doom and gloom. If Liverpool are grief junkies then a large contingent of our lot are pessimism junkies
