Newcastle United 2-3 Brentford (07/02/26)

Another problem is Howe seems to get his lineup wrong every game.

The amount of times he comes out with we were poor first half but were better in the second Is alarming.

Feel the reason we didn’t release funds for Eddie just now was that he’s gone either way now.

Would you give him any more money? Unfortunately he’s burned through any transfer credit he had.

Really tough watch that, no control in the middle, huge gaps between midfield and attack, soft and slow defence and toothless and shot shy up front, we have no substance, no backbone and no confidence. Really stuck with how we change this now.

Even the most deluded of happy clappers will start to realise that this isn't a blip. This season has been utterly devoid of life aside from slapping around a few 2nd rate European teams.

The league was tight a few weeks ago and the door to Europe was being held ajar for us but now we're being left in the dust.

We'll do well to finish ahead of the mackems this year let alone Europe!

4th, 7th, 5th, and a cup win followed by this season would suggest that by definition it's a blip in the record. Plenty of mitigating factors beyond "every problem must mean change the manager" as well

Lads look absolutely spent and devoid of confidence. I think this season is a write off now, I’d still give Howe the start of next season though. It’s hard to take when you see Brentford bully us into submission, quite a few of them would walk into our current squad if we’re honest. Igor Thiago was signed for beans and showed us everything we’re lacking, amongst others.

Watched a totally different game to me

Honestly what was actively bad about our general play today? Off the top of my head - a shot cleared off the line from Wissa, a fantastic Kelleher save from Thiaw, brilliant Elanga cross which leads to Bruno penalty award, great chance for Thiaw at the end which is 100% scoreable (and unfortunately falls to our central defender) and a good set piece goal. Did we carve them open in attack? Probably not, but we created more than enough to merit our two goals. So then you look at the defensive side - did we have any problems whatsoever apart from three instances of Dango v Trippier? No. We would have absolutely won that game had Tino or Miley been in at RB.

Beaten by a set piece coach, they were the better team tbh

You're probs being flippant but tbh might be a bit disrespectful. They're 7th on merit like. Their coach and/or backroom seem exceptional. They sell their best players and get better. Fair play.

We are shite and not value for 7th and that showed today.

I think you'll struggle to find many fans who think it's a blip. We've had the same issues since September.

Wow. Aren't you clever.

I asked a genuine question. Based on what we've seen what makes Wolte a striker?

He rarely shoots.

He was whiskers away from a first half hat trick vs Chelsea mate. We are obviously not playing to his strengths right now and I also see him more as a 10 than a striker, but your negativity brings us nowhere except a «get a load of this NUFC cunt» pic on twatter

Fine.

We keep losing leads. Sliding down the table. But let's be positive.

Everything is fine. We should all be happy.

Completely suckerpunched there. Long ball, second ball in empty CM area, easy ball behind AWOL RB, well hit shot straight through keeper.

A microcosm of our league season if you like, just when things were actually going quite well. More points thrown away.
