Any expansion proposal for the East Stand is also likely to need the purchase of all of the properties on the west side St. James Street and the demolition of at least part of the listed buildings in that street.

Something like that would be unbelievably good for the city. Just need to tie up the nimbies twats and chuck them down an abandoned coal mine.

That's part of our identity! Although, I do wonder whether it possibly has a marginal effect on fatigue and injuries over he course of a season.

I don't think it'll be an expansion.  This is for other reasons I think.

There’s about a meter in difference between Leazes and Gallowgate.

Same here, I still think Leazes Park / Castle Leazes will be the way we'll go... if we do.

This season, we've have conceded the most goals at the Leazes end, majority of goals have occurred during the second half of games having conceded 19 goals in the final 15 minutes of matches, think were fucked 2nd half running up that hill (No Kate bush jokes ta)

I thought that the images today showed them digging a bit deeper.

That’s just to put the new foundations in so the club can have more events when no fixtures. The slope itself is not disappearing entirely I’ve been told.

Turn the buildings into an official club hotel. Tear down SJP and turn it into an actual nice park, and build the new ground further up.

In this scenario couldn’t you just leave it as houses?

They aren’t houses, they are student accommodation and apparently the interiors have been ripped out.

You could redo the insides with period like features and have it as a boutique accommodation option for corporate fans. It’s easy enough building a student accommodation block where the Stack is (as part of a new permanent fanzone) that houses more students and can generate even more income for the club.

Could they potentially dig so deep that they leave the atmosphere?
