  1. Past hour
  2. His point is still right re Ashley like. Highlighted by the list of players you're citing being non-Ashley signings (Joelinton aside)
  3. Wasn’t he like barely 20 then though in a horrific Burnley side?
  4. A fat chunk of the fee will go to us as well. Chunky sell on clause inserted when we sold Elanga.
  5. Conveniently ignoring the £100m of sales last year I see. Most of which were pure profit sales. You're better than this fella. We also have no idea what Mbeumo will cost, and the talk is he wants 4x his £45k wages, which is £180k. It's not much more than what you've paid Gordon, Bruno, Joelinton etc. You even gave £150k to Lloyd Kelly. People need to stop acting like these players are getting handed Casemiro contracts.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

We don't need a younger version of Murphy. We need a better version of Murphy.
  7. I’d love us to sign McAtee. Think he’d offer some versatility too. Which I get the impression Howe is a fan of. Most coaches would be, TBF.
  8. I’m not as down on Elanga as others on here. Rapid, can play off both feet, takes set pieces, decent numbers in a team that aren’t renowned for their attacking prowess (scored 10 less than us and joint lowest scorers in the top 10). But like Mbeumo, if he were to leave. He’d cost daft money and more than likely be after huge wages, too. I’d rather him over Semenyo (overrated) and Madueke (egg). But there’s no value or juice in any of the 4 mentioned here and looking abroad or a punt on someone younger or the Champo might be the way to go. May as well stick with our own juice on the right hand side.
  9. We might look at Harvey Elliot too if they buy Wirtz? These players might not have the initial excitement as a Mbeumo but they would fit right into what we want as players at NUFC, plus with Howe’s coaching etc
  10. With Ligue 1's broadcasting disasters, their clubs will be ripe for some low-balling you would've thought?
  11. Would be funny if we did take the piss on June 29th or something. Even just a token £1m fee both ways just to make a mockery of some of the rules in place.
  12. He can be coached. He's technically better than every player in our team on his day. His passing stats are something crazy like 91% which for a creative player is actuslly insane. Silva and Bernardo aren't physically imposing or particularly athletic but they knew exactly when and how to press and won more than their fair share of dues as a result.
  13. I’m no saying I’m excited about a potential DCL signing, far from it but look what Howe has done with other players already. He clearly sees something there and thinks he can improve him/get him back to his best. Again if it facilities getting our main targets at RW and CB then fine because we likely can’t go “big” everywhere.
  14. We've sold loads of promising youngsters or academy products over the last two seasons mate. McTominay, Elanga, Carreras, Greenwood, Henderson, Kambwala, Pellistri, Mejbri, Kovar, Garner etc. (around £130-140m worth, likely more than what Newcastle have sold of their youth products in the same period?). Garnacho and Rashford almost certain to go this summer as well while Mainoo is a possibility. That's not including sales with other players like Sancho/Antony etc. Please stop acting like these rules don't apply to us, especially since the only player we've signed so far is Cunha which will be £24m a year on the books. Palace could afford £24m a year on the books never mind Man United.

Was he? Always felt he was pretty average and injury prone

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Mount was a world beater a couple of seasons ago, he took the cash option and now look at him
  17. This is how I’m thinking too. He would’ve been ideal but clearly wanted ridiculous money which we weren’t going to pay. We would’ve still given him a great wage, CL football, working under Howe, St James park but it seems the main driver was cash. Fair play if that’s what he wants but we haven’t been signing players like that.

  19. Think we’ll make our moves after the big boys have made theirs start of this window. Man City / Chelsea / Man Utd / Liverpool will look to have all done their big boy business, it then gives us a clean run on others.
  20. Elanga and James mcatee will be great addition.
  21. while Lee Kang-In fits the more playmaker role I think we need on the rw his athleticism scares me. The few times I've seen him play he looks like he wears concrete boots.
  22. No bid made though, I don't take any notice of transfer rumours now. Just 99% clickbait
