The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Are we the most pessimistic fans in the whole entire world? Asking for a friend -
Agree with you there. When Murphy has a bad game you can see it early on, so wish we would just swap him out after 10-15 min in some of the games this season
-
The premier league has never had a really great RB though IMO, and we still never see Trent in anyone’s all time XI. People talk about him as if he’s the English Cafu. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t make my all time top 5 premier league RB’s.
-
Ideally you’d like another a CM of high quality to have a rotational crop of 4. Then with younger players to supplement.

We've also beaten Arsenal (twice), Chelsea, Forest, Villa and Bretford at home, along with draws against Liverpool and City. There's a big distinction in the home and away fork when it comes to top half teams. -
I think that's diminishing why these players are so good. They find the space. You don't think 100's of managers probably put someone on Messi and said man mark him, only for him to inevitably find space and score again and again?
-
With our midfield 3 it should be possible to man mark certain players at all times of the game. There's not many players I'd stick one of our players on at all times, but Palmer is one of them. Been screaming at the screen more than once when he's found space between our lines and seemingly nobody catching him until its too late. The other player I can think of is Rodri. He's always where the ball is somehow, so why not ensure we always have a player where the ball will end up too?
-
Barnes or Gordon doesn’t work on the RW though. We are a better side with Murphy out there.
-
I'm fairly certain he is the player opponents hate facing the most out of all our players.

Yeah we need his character in this one, it’ll be proper feisty. -
I quite like that we're not taking the when they go low we go lower approach. Feel confident we'll be challenging on all fronts eventually anyway, just not as fast as some had hoped when PIF bought us.
-
We'll get a better RW come the Summer
-
They've just come back up from the third tier. Were down there several years, like Sunderland.
-
Fantastic player who's tailor made for Howe's style. That being said, I doubt he'd match Murphys output this season had he stayed, and would have struggled to get the playing time he wanted so in hindsight it was probably in his best interest too to make the move. Shame it wasn't just a season long loan.

Their speed on the transition is soooo bad for us. Especially without Joelinton. Willock against Palmer? aaaargh -
I think he's one of the best right backs the league has seen
-
Man himself has announced it on Twitter. Replies as level headed as you'd expect.
-
By a few years you mean 30?
-
If he was trying to show how he’s moved on mentally to Brighton being his club he did the opposite. Just stick to focusing on your football man, no one cares
-
Didn't realise Deportivo are now languishing in the second tier. Feels like only a few years ago they were winning La Liga and doing really well in the Champions League.

Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Newcastle United - 04/05/2025

Having watched it all the way through, I thought a point was about right. First half was a bit of a non-event. We were better after the break, but didn't really feel we did enough to win the game, granted both teams will argue they had their chances. It'll prove to be a decent point should we win those two home games. -
I honestly think he's incredibly overrated
-
Quizzed on the celebration after the game, the 20-year-old said: "It's a nice celebration because they were my former team before but now I'm in Brighton and that's where my focus is. So I try to celebrate for them and make them happy." Pressed further on his goal, Minteh added: “I was happy with the goal because this is what I dream of every time. If I don’t score in a game, to make a pass. “It’s an amazing feeling. Everybody wants to prove the team which sell them and I try to do that every time I play against them. I am happy about it.” sounds like he confused himself with that celebration

Willock offered no protection for Tino yesterday who seemed to be more on the left with Barnes and it was Barnes who was chasing back.Tino was also stepping into the Joelinton position a few times goin forward Alarmingly undisciplined display from Willock.Start him and its gonna be a shite day
