  1. I'd love it to be both Bale and Dos Santos although if it were the two of them I'd be worried about Jonas. If it is two like people seem to think then it won't be two people who can play out wide.
  2. I'd like to see us go for: Harper Simpson Taylor Colo Enrique Taylor Guthrie Smith Jonas Ranger Shola But think the line up will be: Harper Simpson Taylor Colo Enrique Taylor Butt Smith Jonas Nolan Ameobi
  3. How much bad luck can one family have. She has leukaemia, he has cancer. Hope they both get well soon.

    PROMOTIONOMETER

Before the season started I wasn't at all convinced we could go up, I thought we'd finish in the top half but just outside the play off places. Now I'm not so sure, I'm not saying we'll win the league but we definitely have the ability to do it, as mentioned my only concern is a paper thin squad. I'm counting down till Sept 1st just hoping no one else leaves before then.
  5. A good manager is influenced by nobody. In which case Coliccini isn't going to play
  6. My preferred starting line up would be Krul R Taylor S Taylor Colicinni Enrique Duff Barton Smith Jonas Carroll Ranger
  7. I went as far to think Anelka was on his knee's in front of him.
  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/west_bromwich_albion/8198399.stm Given a 3 month ban which is back dated? That's about as much of a punishment as nodding at him and telling him to watch it considering the 3 months will go back to the end of last season.
  9. Personally for me this is a must win game, it's like a derby for me since I've been living in Berkshire for 2 years and work in Reading. I'd love to see us come out of this 2 - 1 / 2-0 winners although can't see us keeping a clean sheet anytime soon. I can't see Reading reaching the play offs this season as from what I remember they've got rid of alot of key personel in the summer with none more important than Coppell who I think was the reason for their success.

    Jonas Gutierrez

I read that earlier and I'm not really sure what to make of it. Sky Sports I don't often trust since they seem to throw 100 stories out there in the hope 1 is real. If those are genuine quotes then I'm still not whether I'd like to get good money in for him or not. If we're going to carry on with no signings then I hope we keep him.

    RIP sale thread.

I dont think that Profitable Group have ever seriously been in the running to buy the club. Personally I still think they're thrown their name out to the media as free publicity, allegedly all buyers who took part in due diligence signed a document to remain both annonymous and not to go public on their intentions which hardly explains Profitable Groups actions.
  12. This was my first thought too. Imagine when it comes to Real/Barca derby matches the trouble they would have trying to get both sets of fans along that one route.
  13. Couldn't agree more with that sentiment. Really? Personally I'd like to cling on as long as possible, never know when some miracle cure could come out, unlikely but there's always the hope. as and when you've watched it,felt it a bit more you'll realise that the miracle cure is a way off and the pain is closer. i fully understand and concur with crumpys sentiments. I dont know about that, Im not one of these pro life hillbillies but its definitely something worth fighting for, ive seen cancer take close ones away and whilst you can take comforts in seeing your loved ones ease away from horrific daily pain, nothing can replace the time spent in those final moments fighting the disease. Theres a tragic twisted logic in there somewhere, euthanasia is just far too clinical and detached from the emotions that feelings that surround said event, neccessary feelings. I wholeheartedly agree with that. The last day before my Granda died he was conscious for about one hour and in that hour I was there, he couldn't talk much because of the pain but he did suffer just to tell me I was a good lad and that he was proud. That still chokes me up now especially as I know how much pain he must have been in to say that. Right now I can also relate to what Hartson must have went through in the early Have I/Have I not got it stages since I'm off to see my GP on Wednesday (I'm probably paranoid and over reacting though).
  14. I thought there was an age limit of 16 for players to play professional league/cup games. I know this is definately the case in the premier league as when Rooney came through at Everton Moyes was talking about how if it wasn't for the rule he'd have been in the first team since he was 14/15 years old.
  15. I prefer the full back panel than the one on the link above. To me the white panel looks more as though it was a last minute addition without any planning.

    New Away Strip

Weird thing is, I posted saying I thought it was hideous and about 20 minutes later i'm starting to like it.

  18. Even if he has no intention of staying I'd definately offer him a new contract since we should be entitled to compensation since he is under 25. From what I remember of the Chopra move to Cardiff because he was under either 24/25 and we offered to extend his contract but he joined another team we received something like £500k in compensation.
  19. I'd have loved it if this was our away shirt.
  20. I still really like this shirt even after seeing it close up but have held of buying it until I knew which league we'd be in next season as I want a name and number put on the back. I've finally decided on on Kilcline on the back since we're in the championship but dont know which number he had on the back, has anyone else got a clue? I've got a feeling he wore number 6 but think that is probably just because he's a centre half and that's a normal number for him to have.
  21. I'm sure I read that when he did his leg they would have expected him back into full training in mid summer so he should be back for pre-season if not before hand.
  22. Harper Beye S Taylor Bassong Enrique Lovenkrands Guthrie Duff (on a wage cut) Viduka (pay as you play contract) Xisco (surely in the championship he'd finally be given a go to prove himself) all the upcoming players such as Carroll, Ranger, Soderberg, Krul etc.
  23. RIP I knew the name when reading it but couldn't recall where, I seriously love that song
  24. I think going on the back of the Boro game we can get a result against Fulham IF we show the same work ethic and commitment, but how many times in the past have we done that. Fulham aren't a bad side and in no way this season have they been push overs, my only worry now is Hull have Bolton and Man U to play who realistically have nothing to play for now, Bolton are safe, Man U will have the league wrapped up by the time Hull come to visit and will be resting players for the Champions league final which is where my main worry is.
  25. is there any way we can ban people from this thread, such as the ones who are "being real" and saying we're doomed? I still believe we can stay up, I've said for the last 2 games that at most 7 points is enough to keep us up, so far out of our last 5 games we've got one we just need another 4 at the minimum I think.
