Zulte-Waragem 1 - 3 Newcastle United - Post match thoughts

Happy with Baba bar the obvious rash challenge, his confidence will grow with each game. Providing him and Duff can keep fit we really need them to link up. The standard is set from the right where Milner and Solano are linking up fantastically, aided by sibbers and dyer last night. The left side needs to balance that up a bit more, baba is getting forward and is capable of putting a ball in and taking on player, he just needs to get that confidence back. Bramble and Taylor both had decent showing, another perfomance like that next week and I think Bramble will keep his place alongside Gooch. I fear Glenn is still very hesitant about Solano at RB, which is fair enough from a defensive point of view but he is easily our best option there.. I hope he keeps him there. Duff still seems like a one trick (cutting inside) pony to me, whilst he got more results yesterday there isnt much variety in his play, Id like to see him more down the by-lines banging a cross in, once in a while. Encouraging performance though. Would like to see dyer and Martins at least benched for the next game to keep them fresh for wigan - where we have to pick up (a) point/s. Wonder what the odds for Sibbers scoring 10+ goals for us this season were at the start of the season? -
Just sing praise Claridge hasnt been covering anything recently.
-
Id love the interview with Gary Coleman aswell if its at all possible. Im such a big fan.
-
Yeah right before Kick off, was hilarious. He made them look like the Gooch fan club.
-
FFS. Well thats that then. Doesnt matter whether he is guilty or not, cant see him sticking around just to get jibes of away supporters and more tabloid trash each time he looks at someone in distain. If he has said these things he has dug his own grave, if he hasnt we should sue. Either way we are likely to lose a player that could have been pivitol in our future, more than likely for peanuts at the end of the season too.

What was up with the goochmeister before the match. He turned the bench into Team Gooch... high fives all round! Gooh in da house!
-
We will scrape through, maybe a 0-0 draw and some comments about getting the job done will follow though.
-
Whats the craic with this whole with holding documents business with Tevez? Are they actually going to get punished for it or is it going to get pushed under the carpet and forgotten about, whilst Emre gets banned for life. Points deduction would be fantastic.
-
Scarily Viana actually contributed more to us.
-
I wouldnt say Milner was worse than Downing. His pace will always be his achilles heel though, if he manages to improve on his delivery I think he can really push for an England squad place though.
-
If he was playing a bit more often maybe... But I guess you could argue the same with SWP.
-
Indeed. He only came out a while ago saying he isnt normally a loud player on the pitch. He said he is happy to help all the younger players out, but only if they are asking for advice. He more than deserves it though. Solano would have been equally a good shout, but its good to have someone central in that role.

Sibierski turned down longer contract with Everton

The question is can he make double figures this season? -
You mean they have to take the one of former footballer Albert Luque out?
-
whens Keegans statue going up? I think it will look good, could be bad if he ends up tarnishing himself as a manager here though. But he is certainly one to live up to expectations and stand tall in adversity.

The last time we had a chance to win it we didn't bottle it. The shithead manager threw it away to feed his ego. We were tearing Sporting Lisbon apart until Dyer came off injured, the team bottled a great oppurtunity in my eyes. Like the last two FA cup finals and the Marseille game we failed to turn up and play to at least an accpetable standard.
-
WIN Of course we have the chance, of course we can.. its down to whether we bottle it again or continue the momentum of the intial stages and pick up the results we can acheive. There is enough talent in our squad, but we will need a bit of luck and everyone to be on top of their game.
-
Would be suprised if we didnt go for Harper Solano Taylor Bramble Baba Milner Dyer Butt Duff Sibbers Martins Like to see Luque get a few mins, expect he probably will aswell.

Alot of Evertons success can be attributed to Alan Irvine if you ask me. He did great things for us at youth level and for the first team and was a big loss when he left. No suprise things turned when he and moyes worked together. -
He is fecking 17, if he isnt playing well at 21 then theres a problem. We as a country put far too much pressure on any emerging talents and the press does their very best to break them before then. Like mentioned he is at possibly the best club for development, rightfully has been dropped out of the england reckoning and given a chance to develop. The press and public just need to back off and let him develop. Guess it wouldnt be a problem if the people in this country ten years older than him could string two passes together for the national team.

Everyone needs a talented mate to leach unto, just to make themselves feel a bit more special. Its ok my career has gone wrong, my best buddy is the best player in the world, im part of his career.
-
Im still excited the next day. Will be a huge lift for the club, just to have him back out on the training pitch, even bigger when he can train lightly with the squad. Lets just see what the reaction to this is next week though. Fingers crossed.
-
Godsmark is quite highly rated aswell, quickest player at the club apparently. Will be interesting to see who can break through over the next 3/4 years.

can see Kris Commons going somewhere like the mackems.
