  1. Routledge offers a lot less than Jonas defensively and not a great deal better going forward. If we are to sacrifice a forward player then it has to be the very immobile Nolan. Yes, he has the knack of getting into the box at the right time but he doesn't "scare" any defender as far as I am concerned. Hatem for Nolan is the straightforward swap. Jonas and Enrique work well together and it's a risk to break that partnership as it is quite solid defensively...
  2. I quite like the collocini on the right and cambell in at the back. Much better than Perch... don't know about the smith remaining...
  3. Tiote for Smith (Smith is garbage and against everton = RED) Raylor for Perch (Same defensively but could put some crosses onto AC's head) Ben Arfa for Nolan (more probably on for Nolan after 60 mins...)
  4. I forgot to add that a personal preference of mine would be to change james perch for Ryan Taylor. there are two reasons for this: 1) In my eyes Perch has got off lightly with only a yellow per game, he panicks a lot and makes too many rash challenges, players also shrug him off easily. 2) Andy Carrol likes crosses into the box to be placed inch perfect, that's where his main abilities are; winning everything in the air. Raylor provides thise crosses and is a threat going forward. I honestly think that Raylor is no worse a defender than Perch but offers much more offensively, specially when you think about what we need to do to make Carrol score...
  5. I will be so dissapointed with Hughton if he chooses to leave any of Smith or Nolan in the team for this game. Jonas has a great work ethic and partners Enrique very well, they have a good understanding, why break that, also why put Ben Arfa into a position that isn't his preffered one. Replace that fat useless hippo and we would have a half decent attack... Tiote, even though I havent seen him play, must be a better option than Smith, for god's sake Chris!!! smell the coffeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. Yeh, Ranger seems to have brought himself into contention with a few good displays... i.e. Fukk off Shola!
  7. I'd rather get ameobi off the wage bill and see if best and xisco come good, shola has had far too many chances now...
  8. I don't know why everyone is getting on his back, he has a very decent CV and his Lyon side were a formidable team, especially the games they had against the "mighty" real madrid, a real team with great spirit and excellent counter attacking football... He will take Villa back up the table for me. Needs to be able to spend something imo.
  9. hatem on at around 65mins for Nolan, tiote on for smith at 80 mark. Obviously...cruising at 3-0 prior to...
  10. But rolling contracts work both ways... Imagine he takes us into Europe and we see a team that develops quickly...He could easily be poached by another team although he doesn't strike me as the type of person to be motivated solely by money.
  11. Not forgiven, but going in the right direction and making correct decisions for a change. They need to make an effort on their PR still as the treatment of press, away fans and general countenance is still lackin...
  12. It's the first time we have had a manager who says the right things, notices what's missing in the team, plays the team he should play and has formed a cracking team spirit. He needs to be signed for two years on a decent wage, that being within the new austere budget, but not ridiculuously low.... Get what you pay for...We've been crying out for some stability for years!

Looks like the monkey was hungry, I now know why he keeps making those silly three fingered gestures...what a dope!
  14. I agree completely with Mr Mojo's post but the only part i don't is the "bonny lad" bit, tad condescending... I have never heard of a player having good technique and not being able to control a ball on first touch, doesn't make sense tbf...
  15. Best of both worlds n' all that... Have the freudian girlfriend who replaces your mother, and get out and about hoorin and shaggin till your hearts content!! ANY PREM LEAGUE TEAM WANT TO SIGN AN OVER THE HILL 37 YR OLD FULL BACK??? PLEEEASE!

    Strongest Eleven

Jose Mourinho interview in a couple of Spanish dailies yesterday, his comment was that the two central defenders and the two midfielders in front of them always form the spine of his teams. The second point I found interesting was that the sum of the parts is always more than the individual parts themselves, what he was saying that on paper sometimes two "known" names seem much more than two lesser names but they can function much worse than those supposedly inferior ones. Good example would be Lampard -Gerrard axis for england, Barry + whoever worked much better (sum of the parts..). Apply this to our team and I think we are quite strong now, but who is our best centre midfield COMBO???
