It is sometimes a good thing for a manager to have some time out as Howe has done. It gives them time to recharge the batteries, use the time to evaluate what went on before and perhaps see ways of doing things differently to improve their skills. He did more good things than bad during his time with Bournemouth that's for sure

The only way to play yesterday was defensive to try and stop Chelsea from scoring or scoring too many. For an hour we did just that and Chelsea barely had a shot at goal. We are up against one of the best teams and manager in Europe. No manager will turn this around in the short term. We have a long grim road ahead

Centre of our defense is the weakest point. Lascelles Clark and Hayden just can't control or pass the ball. The only thing they do is play it square, backwards or hoof it. Even with space in front of them when they get the ball, they don't move into the space, all they want to do is get rid of it. At least with Schar and Fernandez in there you have players who can pass the ball. Clark and Lascelles are just old fashioned centre halves and don't fit the modern game

Taking over after 2 years of Bruce demolition is one hell of a task for any manager. Jones is doing what he feels is the best way. He has said that Willock had been played with pain killing injections so he's trying not push the lad. Ryan Fraser is a player he knows well and he feels he can do a job. Considering how much he's played it will take a few games to get up to speed. When Rafa was here he had to rely on Joselu so goals weren't going to come easy so Rafa stopped us from getting battered every week because he knew it could all come down to goal difference. I've no doubt that Jones sees things in a similar way. Give the guy some credit, he's being professional and trying to drag us up out of the gutter and that will take time

Problem is we have no midfield as such. The ball just goes from defence to the front line then back again. We get away with this sometimes by Almiron picking the ball up deep and carrying it forward, we don't pass our way forward

Please, not Martinez. He has a poor track record apart from his time with Belgium. That was helped in no small way by having some of the world's top players at his disposal, DeBruyne, Hazard,Lukaku etc

Haven't we got a good home record against Chelsea? This will be the first time in 2 years that I want us to do well. After 70 years of living and breathing NUFC the last 2 years have been so hard to take
