Even the first image (of Sunderland) has Newcastle written across over it. Unlucky mackems
  3. Was too busy travelling back yesterday to post anything. Woke up today still gutted. Although you never want to lose, I would have taken losing by that margain against such an inform team before the game, but to lose it in the circumstances we did, well I could only compare it to being kicked in the balls. I've only quickly seen the goals in the pub afterwards so can't comment too much on the game. However, RvP at the end really boiled my piss. I came back into the house yesterday to see his smug little face on a Sky Sports News recap. From what I've heared, it started well before the winner. The crowd were getting on Krul's back from the first minute, many times when he didn't even have the ball in his hands. Watching the ref, he didn't think it was an issue (or put his hands to his watch) until late until 80 mins - if he thought it was enough to add on minutes and minutes of injury time, why did he not show a card for time wasting or even go across and have a word? When the winner went in, the ball was back on the halfway line before any of the scuffles started. Had RvP not been a dick and basically ended the game with being a dick, theoretically there was nothing stopping us doing what they'd done to us. Imo, RvP basically blew the final whistle there and then. Having seen the footage, how was he allowed to walk away from the intial head to head going 'calm down, calm down' then pumping up the crowd? These actions dragged back the players who had positioned themselves ready for the kick off and made the ugly scenes even more ugly. How was this different to what Simpson and Krul did the previous weekend? I know it won't happen, but if the FA pulled us and Sunderland up on such handbags, whats different about this? There is probably some sore loser issues in my views but I wasn't alone. The same goes for the poor stewarding/policing. Knowing that they were going to search everyone, why did they only have four staff and four turnstiles open? We got there before ten to and only just got in for kick off due to the que going back almost as far as the bridge. Once in the ground, there were quite a few objections from supporters with regards to us 'calming down' despite being wound up from their supporters. I've been to enough games to know its a two way bit of friendly banter but when I get told off for celebrating our goal, then a fat Will.I.Am and ginger dyke in the front row get to openly give shit when and after they scored the equaliser, its not on. When I simply pointed across to them saying nothing, they were sitting right next to the police openly winding up our fans, I received another warning. Now I know the police in the yellow and blue tops were our own and were simply looking after us, but surely their lot should have been doing the same to them? Come the winner, their eyes were on us muted fans, not the abuse that was coming from the Arsenal fans behind them. As much as I wanted to give out a rant, I restrained myself. Apparently it was just as bad at the back of our section according to some lads I was speaking to after the game. All in all, I thought we'd done enough to get the draw and was truely gutted/frustrated when we didn't get it. As someone has said, the lose of this point feels worse knowing what happened in the previous two games. We keep being told lessons are being learnt but I'm not seeing the benefits of that just yet. Still, with a quarter of the season to go, it is still very much in our own hands, albeit it mission achieved or total disaster!

    Ryan Taylor

Mostly tripe, sorry. What? The fact he isn't a brilliant footballer, the fact he did a good job as cover at LB at the start of the season, the fact Ben Arfa is better and should start before him, the fact Alan Smith ultimately cost the club more by sitting on the bench, or the fact he can't realistically see himself being in the first 11 each week? Tripe response, sorry.

    Ryan Taylor

I'm happy to give him 2 years. Ok he may not be a brilliant footballer but a brilliant footballer will want to play each weekend and/or ask for a higher wage. I doubt Raylor will be either. A sensible squad player who will sit on the bench and fill gaps when needed. Don't get me wrong, he is nowhere near Ben Arfa and he shouldn't start ahead of him, but where would our season be without his initial cover at left back? One of the biggest reasons why Santon has been able to slide in without problem was our league position and confidence that came with it - when he messed up as he learnt the game, our back 4 and Jonas helped out. Without the good start, I doubt this would have happened as the focus would have been getting forward and scoring. I'd rather have an average but experienced Raylor ready to come on than a shit scared teenager who will drop his arse the first time pressure is put on him. Putting football to one side, he seems to be a very popular squad member who has enough experience to influence, lead and guide the new/young lads without being a twat about it, see Alan Smith for example. He also won't speak out if he doesn't feature for weeks at a time. I'm not going to say he is 'happy to sit on the bench' but he himself will know his role lies in the squad rather than first 11.
  6. Its not like he doesn't stand out like a sore thumb .....
  7. Finish RVP! EDIT: Made slightly easier with Reina's non attempt to close the angle, get the right angle, attempt to save

What a doylem. After lots of people pointed out his obvious balls up, his reponse was... 'My bad I don't follow the Scum so not clued up on their work in Europe! #FTM'

  10. Annoyingly we get complete silence when there should be some background sound. As much as shitty teams with drums do my head in, at least they don't have awkward silences. We needed a song that can be sung for minutes on end. There have been a few this season to compete with 'toon toon, black and white army' but many are sung far too fast and are forced to finish before people explode. I'm known for being the guy starting this at away games who'll start it, take a breather when it eventually takes off, then be there to start it off again when it dies. Unfortunately where I sit at home, I wouldn't even try.
  11. I've done this a few times, just stood there arms crossed at the full time whistle. Other times, like Fulham away, I've turned my back as they walk off the pitch (not that it mattered at Fulham because I was closer to the Thames than the pitch and only one player applauded the travelling fans). Booing has a place for opposition players, Karl Henry and Nigel De Jong, but not the players you are technically there to support. I'd rather poor performances from our own players were met with silence rather than booing. Same goes for cheering when a sub (normally Shola or more recently Obertan) is subsituted.
  12. Their response to 'Sunderland till half time' was 'Spurs Away'. Now unless I'm mistaken, all I could hear throughout the second half was the Newcastle fans continuous support (bar a few songs from Spurs) despite the humping. And this shite comment coming from the same set of fans who during their defeat to West Brom on Saturday decided to, in their own words, 'when the 3rd went in everyone just had a party during the second half' downstairs in the concourse. Obviously it got some people wound up on RTG but it reads like most were in favour. Apparently after getting bored halfway through the second half, the majority were refused access back onto the stand and were sent out. Lots of videos (from during the second half) already on youtube...
  13. At 20 mins in he tweeted 'This is easy for #nufc'. Dick!
  14. Is this on normal radio anywhere? 'Legends' are making my ears bleed!

Maybe a Giggs but even if it is, I don't care.....
  16. No excuse for taking free kicks in the wrong position then?
  17. I couldn't have described it better if I tried.
  18. This is what i'd go with if Cabaye is out like. I know it's not a popular view around here, but Obertan is definitely a better option than Raylor on the RM for me. I agree with you . As a complete aside, does anyone know what the crack is with that pub near the ground tomorrow, I'm aware it's closed for refurbishments but I'm sure I read somewhere that the bit outside it is still open and people are allowed to just bring cans and loiter there until match time? It sounds like nonsense but I'm certain I've read that somewhere . I have to drive but my passengers will definitely want to know. It was dot com who said that but they've since taken it off so totally unsure. It seems sensible if people are allowed to meet there but if there is any external work being carried out, it wouldnt be safe. Having lived in Blackburn there isn't much else apart from the area behind the away stand. I know they're opening up the ground early but they can't expect all the fans to just arrive at a night time away game and head straight in, can they? We'd drink the place dry if so and I don't fancy the 'half time crush' for two hours pre match, its bad enough just at half time!

  21. We don't have anything to really lose in this so hopefully we take our game to them rather than waiting to see how they set up. As much as the win against Man Utd recovered our poor December, the big win last week, although not spectacular, has given us this relative freedom. The last thing I want to do is travel down and watch neither team willing to step out and give it a go (much like the game last week until we had to reshuffle after Cabaye's injury). Can't wait for my work shift tonight to be over, a cheeky beer or two before bed then back on it on the train tomorrow morning. I love away games me!
  22. Some very wise, and imo spot on, points in there. I'm a relatively young fan (24) but I totally agree with you about the blessing that was going down. The club had been going backwards for seasons, players were losing interest and unless we offered new players large contracts, the club couldn't attract anyone (and for the fans, the new away games were a welcome break from the high prices of the PL). True it may have been a different story had we struggled but the cheap/sensible/budget decisions made, did more than enough to get us promoted and set us up to leap frog the toss at the bottom of the PL. Finishing 12th last season was annoying but who realistically summed up our season based our final position? We continued to climb as a team and club, started/connected again to attract big names and the club was well on the way to break even. This season we've taken the next step and to even be linked to some of the names being mentioned, it feels good to be a NUFC supporter again. True there have been some clangers and I myself have been very annoyed. However, these can be counted on one hand. Sometimes these decisions kick us in the balls but thats because we're too close to the clubs and the people involved. If you take a step back and consider the decision in terms of incoming money, personel structure or long term plans and many are more than sensible. All you have to do is wear the shirt abroad to see how others view us! People are talking about us for the right reasons and many see us as a club that are going against the downward norm. This includes other PL fans. Put is this way, minus the top 5 (maybe to some extent Fulham and Stoke for short stints in Europe) which club is doing better than us since our relegation season or even the season or two before?
