  1. Hasn't helped Wolves, didn't help Leeds..Barnsely, Luton, Swindon...the list goes on. QPR aren't exactly setting the Championship alight, still outsiders to go up, not exactly an advantage, but if they'd stuck to FFP and dumped the entire squad where would they be? Doesn't stop certain premiership teams from overspending though huh?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I really think he still has a lot to offer, front 3 of LDJ up top with Remy and HBA playing off him..... Never gonna happen is it?
  3. Am I right in assuming that having negative equity in Newcastle United would absorb some of the taxes owed by MASH and by writing off the debt by absorbing it into MASH would cause him more losses in the long run? That would make sense as to why it's interest free and he's not looking to recoup any time soon? If he just adds it to the value of the club he can continue to use it as a sort of tax haven and ultimately not lose a penny if/when he sells up.
  4. Suing the Football League because you're trying to buy your way out of it with money you don't have c***s. If these rules had been in place when we were down there we would have been heavily fined wouldn't we? Yeap. Sets precedent for relegation clauses, it a bit harsh expecting a team of premiership players on premiership wages to just suddenly be on a championship wage because they're relegated without such clauses. Its not as simple as just saying we're paying you less or just selling your players. For a start you have to have buyers, unless you're selling those players for less than their value in a fire sale to reduce your wage bill. It makes it more difficult for teams to bounce back and can seriously damage a team in the long run. I suppose there's an argument to say that running outside your means can be just as damaging but to experience success would need such a risk. I don't think it's the correct course for every team though.
  5. What I read is a £47.7m fine if promoted, transfer embargo if not. Either way, not good news for them no matter what happens come the end of the season. I'm presuming the embargo only covers incoming transfers and won't effect our derisory offer for Remy?
  6. After they've heard his excuses. So a 5 game stadium ban could essencially become 10 games on account of his incessant horseshit?
  7. Lambert is a lot more what we need than Crouch like. I err, agree? Agree also do I
  8. http://i.imgur.com/EUfDz5K.pngTooj likes this. Has his moments of magic still but SAF basically tamed him for the good of Manure.
  9. Shaw's been impressive so far.
  10. Ah good old Wembo, up there every week you know, it's always like that at Wembo
  11. Sturridge really has Ameobi levels of ball control doesn't he?

    Loïc Remy

Yup, we need about 6 or 7 players to me. I'd be shocked if we even get half that. The only position you can't scrimp and save on, LDJ @ £8m will probably stay but Remy would be a touch too much for Super-Scrimper Ashley. LDJ is not our goal scoring answer though and would still leave us at least 2 short up top. Without Remy we'll really struggle next year, Ben if by some miracle, some off bag of crack or something, Pardew got us playing like Barcalona, without a player like Remy, we won't be scoring goals and we'll be looking down not up next season.
  13. How is the spending irrelevant? How many times to do hear managers given credit for the jobs they have done on little resources? Because he isnt making the signings. Exactly, those managers find their own players and build their team themselves. You can hardly say our first team is a reelection of our net spend over the last few years. We have, even after losing Cabaye, a very good first team that the right manager could potentially break into the top 4 with, obviously if certain signings were permanent. Most peoples arguments however do not revolve around the position we're in, in the league, 8th and looking up isn't that bad this time of year (we could do better, but could be worse) it's the turgid football on display during match day, the inability to play to our strengths, the cowardly approach to games, the inability to fight back from a losing position, the continuation of defeats from the mackems. Yes our league position is somewhat acceptable, but everything else is nowhere near! That's before we go into our off field antics and Pardews latest in a long string of misdemeanours. That's why I want him gone at least.
  14. It wont make that much difference, he'll still set up the team, the tactics and how we approach the games. The half time team talk without him will be a bonus but i cant see it being too much different tbh. We won't have him screaming from the touch line, no more goals, demanding players get back or don't go forward, maybe given the opportunity they may venture forward more without him breathing down their necks? I've got a feeling that although he does still do all the prematch work that come match day, without his input, things could hopefully be a little different, or am I clutching at straws??
  15. The FA have already said they consider it much worse than the Ince debacle so expect a higher punishment than that. A full stadium ban means he's not allowed in or around the stadium for an hour before, up until an hour after the match. This will be the telltale sign of how we can play without his input, and yes he's not allowed any contact with anyone at the game for that duration also. As to whether he'll find a way remains to be seen. If he did remain away from the game completely though it would be interesting to see how we fare and if there would be a negative or positive effect to our game.
  16. Back on the subject of LDJ, I find it hard to swallow that we'll probably never get to see a frontline of LDJ spreading the ball with HBA and Remy running beyond him I'd love to see that, just once...
  17. m But it was passion, just handbags your honour!
  18. What happens elsewhere has no bearing on our club when it comes to discipline as we have no say in how other clubs are run. Gross misconduct is clearly laid out by ACAS and ACAS are used as the benchmark on how to carry out disciplinary processes. ACAS list some forms of Gross Misconduct, but not all, violence and bringing the club (in our case) into disrepute are both listed. Indeed but if the club wanted to use this incident to sack Pardew then it would have some bridges to cross. It could be argued that there was no violence as he didn't hurt anyone (although he could have done if he wanted to) and he didn't bring the club into disrepute, any disrepute has been brought on Pardew himself. Carrying off high profile sackings of senior well paid employees without compensation are notoriously difficult once expensive and expert lawyers get stuck in - which is why they hardly ever happen. If a company needs to get rid of a senior employee it's done with a Compromise/Settlement Agreement that involves money changing hands. By the way just for the record I am not condoning Pardews's actions which were pathetic. Violence isn't recorded by how much damage you do ffs, the act in itself was a violent act regardless if any damage was done. He was also representing out club at a football match therefor anything he does reflects the club. If an employee does anything whilst wearing uniform or whilst at their place of work they are representing the company they work for therefor anything they do that would show themselves in a bad light also brings the company into disrepute.
  19. There's no grey area here, some of you are trying to paint it grey, that's the problem. It's either violent conduct or it isn't, there are varying degrees of violence, no one is arguing it was anything but a brush of heads. However the agression and intent was there, in no way is that acceptable in any walk of life whether he causes damage or not. It's gross misconduct by the sheer definition of the term and bringing the company that he works for into disrepute in the public eye. Trying to play it down as handbags is belittling the seriousness of the situation. As a senior representative of our club it is beyond reprehensible and I don't think the club have made the right decision, he should have been suspended pending further investigation, left to consider his actions and dragged through the coals. It's clear the clubs stance on this is farcical, the warning isn't worth the paper it's written on and the fine will either not be enforced or returned in some form of bonus. It was just a PR exercise to flatten the media and hastily made.
  20. Anyone consider that whatever sanction the FA impose may alter the clubs perspective on Pardews position?

    Sunderland

Feeling ambivalent towards their relegation now, on one hand would love to see them flushed down the league toilets and get stuck in obscurity, not least because that useless fuck Pardew can't beat them. On the other hand there's the extended cup run = relegation argument that gives credence to us losing in the third round with not so much as a whimper again next season
  22. If we can keep Remy then I think we need to keep LDJ too, he seems the perfect foil for him and if he starts chipping in with his own goals we'll have a formidable strike force. Of course that would require us to have some ambition!
  23. Has anyone said what he did was right? Probably not but plenty are playing it down and making it look as if we're being picked on for no reason. Exactly. If it was just a one off heat of the moment thing maybe you could excuse it, but how many times has he been in front of the tv cameras within the last few months offering grovelling apologies for his disgraceful behaviour? The bloke is a liability and even his fans in the media seem to be running out of patience. It speaks volumes when your only ally is Joey ASBO Barton!
  24. No one is excusing Meyler, he rightly got a yellow card for his push, but he was provoked by Pardew being an ass and blocking the ball when they were 3-1 down. Still that's no excuse for Pardew to go full radge! Headbutt or headpush doesn't matter it was with intent and aggression, why do people not get that? No ones saying he assaulted him or full on tried to wipe him out head first, it was the action and intent behind it.
  25. Our manager head-butted a player in front of a global audience, I don't see how it's an over reaction. Your lass has done the same thing to you today re-enacting what happened. Pardew wasn't re-enacting anything, he stuck his header on an opposition player during a game of football when he lost control and he's probably lucky that he hasn't connected more and hurt the player. The Hull player pushed Pardew but that shouldn't have been enough to cause the reaction and Pardew should have probably got out of the players way instead of being a prick and trying to slow down the throw-in. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it and we would be going ape-s*** if Bruce has done that to one of our players. The bloke is an embarrassment to the club and he shouldn't be working for the club today after dragging our name through the mud like no manager before him. Absolutely this, the guy knows no bounds, just when you think we can't get any lower he finds new and imaginative ways to make us even more of an embarrassment. We just lurch from one embarrassment to the next with the odd decent game in between. We can't even celebrate a rare good game where we dominated for 90 whole minutes!! Passion my fucking arse, where was that "passion" when we were getting fucking humped by the mackems for the third game straight. He's a fuckig fool.
