That Sanson guy looks incedibly neat in tight spaces. So calm on the ball. Looks the real deal at only 19. Have to hand it to the French they are doing something right in their youth systems, seemingly endless talent coming through the French youth ranks.
  2. Germans were great, congrats to them, what a team. One thing bugs me though. I think Neuer's jump onto Higuain deserved a red card. You never ever jump with the knee first in situations like that. Unbelievable how much protection goalkeepers get these days. And the referee blew the whistle on Higuain. Madness. Also amazing to think how young this German team is and the fact that Reus didn't even feature. Looking forward already to the Euros.
  3. That midfield of Khedira-Schweinsteiger-Kroos is frightening. Haven't seen much of Bayern but holy hell Kroos is good.
  4. Brazil deserved this for not playing joga bonito in a World Cup on their home soil! But jokes aside it's ridiculous how the Brazilians made the game all about Neymar. You would have thought Neymar had just died last match with all the pre match shenanigans. The whole team wearing white caps with his name and holding up his shirt during the national anthem. Embarrassing really. He's 22years old and in his first World Cup ffs.
  5. I'd take Richards for five million at most.
  6. Where was this? In his head. Most probably yeah. But here in Iceland it's been the case at least. No wonder of course, would have liked to see more of Aron.
  7. God I'm glad the USA circle jerk will finally come to a halt Great effort from them nonetheless. Gave everything and then some.
  8. God I love football. This was a perfect start for the weekend and the World Cup in general.
  9. Kieron Dyer wholheartedly aggrees.
  10. When I thought I couldn't hate that man more.
  11. Disgusting. Simeone's been brilliant this year but playing Costa cost them the win imo. Even though he's played only 9 minutes and Atletico where minutes from winning it? Okay, buddy. Yes. They lost because they ran out of legs. 1 more pair of fresh legs could've won the game for them. At 75 minutes their legs had totally gone. Don't think that would've mattered, the team that scores the goal to tie it into extra time always have more energy. I'll let you two experts argue it out. Experts. Nah I'd love to hear your insight into this, Modric is such an overrated player and you're the only one that sees it so you must be the expert. Somethings in football just isn't subjective. You can't just spout s*** and expect it to be taken lightly For a supposedly creative player, what did he create tonight? He had the ball countless times but hardly did anything productive. How many goals does he get as well, btw? Great technique and lovely passing but doesn't produce enough cutting edge moments. That is all. A creative player that doesn't contribute enough in creating or scoring chances yet you think he's world class. Go back to your Playstation. Modric plays a different role than he did with Tottenham and does with Croatia. He doesn't play as a 10 anymore but effectively plays box to box just as the other two in Real's midfield. Modric is the kind of player that dictates tempo, spreads play and stretches defenses all the while doing an insane amount of closing down when off the ball. It would be unfair to judge Modric only on an assist or goals basis as Real Madrid doesn't really have to rely on him for those with the likes of Bale, Ronaldo and Benzema in the team. He does so much more and is an invaluable asset of this Real team. That's not really even up for debate.
  12. Damn has Di Maria been a revelation since Ancelotti switched him to centre mid. Not to be fucked with.
  13. Good night of fooball. Really sad for Atletico but they showed the world everything is possible even with little funds which sends a bit of a lifeline to the sport of football. Really hope that Atletico can keep up in the coming seasons and keep on challenging for major trophies. But I won't lie, I fucking love that frontline of Ronaldo - Benzema - Bale.

  15. Plays in the Icelandic second tier . And he's not the only one to have done that in recent years. Tomi Ameobi and Darren Lough also
  16. Rodwell on loan would be allright and a sensible move for all parties.

  18. Have referees just stopped interfering when the goalie steps off his line during a run up? This was very strange.
  19. That article is brilliant Wullie. Top marks
  20. What sort of alternate reality is this?
  21. Would be the perfect replacement. - He can shoot and has an eye for a pass, is creative on the ball which we very obviously lack - Gylfi is a lot more combative in midfield than most people perceive, works very hard off the ball - Works best in a midfield three, maybe along with Anita and Tiote - Can take a mean set piece. No one is even remotely able to strike a dead ball in this team - He's young and has a lot to prove after a barren spell in Tottenham - Shouldn't be very expensive, Spurs are packed with midfielders Hope Spurs buy more midfielders this summer so we can get him on the cheap.
  22. I posted a few weeks back that Sigurðsson would be an ideal replacement for Cabaye. Ticks all the boxes and I stand by that.
