Story of this team. We just cant seem to sustain positive pressure and possession. We always seem to fade. Very good scoreline so far, think we can catch them off guard again for sure!

Benfica vs. Newcastle United - 04/04/13 @ 8.05pm (ITV4)

As poor as some people think Anita's been I would still have slotted himself or Perch in at RB instead of Simpson. Players like him will get found out in these games. Anyway, that team is definitely good enough to get something out of this! Really looking forward to this now! -

Would be mint if that Wonga sponsor was just basic plain, white writing. I know its just a mock up though. -

Bar Reading, they probably have the worst form in the league. I think they'll survive but they've got some very tough games coming up- all it takes is a couple of losses and those around you to win it and the pressure is cranked up a few notches. Most of their games are against some of the top sides or sides in and around them, and then there's the derby. Reading may have the new manager effect and pick up a few wins, that could make things interesting. Cattermole is influential for them, he'll be a miss. Fletcher is pretty much their only source of goals and that's before taking into account they're not prolific scorers anyway. I wouldn't rule out relegation for them. I hope they go down and rot.

They got rid of our flag because of a 'fire hazard'? Considering it never caught fire and there's strictly no smoking inside the ground, that makes no sense at all. Honestly, football in this country is such a joke. You would get life in jail if you did what was in some of those videos. On a side note, the noise, passion, colour and energy and just general chaos of the Argentine fans is just amazing. I've felt the passion of football in Argentina first hand, but never have I been to a game. I'd love to go to Boca at La Bombonera or, after seeing those Racing fans, visit the Estadio Juan Domingo Peron! That's what football is all about.

The 'newer' or younger generation of our support is so cringe. I remember at the beginning of the season when our reserves played the mackem reserves at SJP, after the game there was literally hundreds of these wanna-be hooligans outside the East Stand after the game goading about 5-10 mackems, asking them for a scrap. A couple of older mackems made a move towards them- or at least showed a mild interest- and there was a stampede U-turn from the kids all running for their lives Such a bunch of wankers who just make us look pathetic.

Spain and Sweden let me down tonight. Ireland and fucking Finland, man

I feel sorry for West Ham fans, tbh. Powerless to stop their club (needlessly) leaving their traditional home for some makeshift soulless ground away from their community. It really is very sad to see, imo- from a general footballing perspective. As said by many, they cant even consistently fill The Boleyn Ground and with many supporters preparing to revolt against the move, what bloody hope do they have of filling a 54,000 seater? This is what happens when non-footballing people make football decisions.

Good work, detective. Interesting point.
-
As always with travelling to that shithole, everything that could have gone wrong did. Please just let them get relegated and be rid of them forever, repulsive, soulless club.
-
Amazing, what a great lad. So good to see that.

Brighton just have such a horrible plastic look about them. Very much a 'new generation' fan base. Plus, those cup loses don't help at all.

Seriously, not this time, honestly. But I saw the odds of 25 and just couldn't resist. You know, the typical Bayern arrogance, an early Arsenal goal, one Bayern player sent off and there you go... You do know they have to score 3, not 1? Realistically, they'll need to score 4 to go through. I just remember Inter Milan coming to Munich, having lost 1-0 at the San Siro. Bayern turned up in their "We've already won" mentality and got beat 2-3. It can happen. Realistically it won't happen. But in football, impossible is nothing. The comparison you've used couldn't be any more different! And what are you, an Adidas ambassador?

31 matches, showing 125 yellow cards, 11 red cards and awarded 16 penalties. Probably best we don't play Tiote

Beat Wigan on Sunday and I think we've got ourselves over the line. I think we've picked up form at just the right time, our class is just starting to pull us away. Give Europe as good as we've got and give the mackems a pasting should be our priorities now.

He needs to start. Fed up with him being benched all the time.

What a goal! Man, I am just smitten for this guy! Such a talent. Stoke's defence is so slow and lumbering that we should have set out to have Gouffran, Cisse and Sissoko looking to play on the shoulder and get in behind them at every opportunity and make use of Yohan's passing ability- see his pass for Gouffran over the top in the first half! Again, its down to that grey haired bloke who picks the team.
-
Gutted about the Hatem news, I'm so desperate to see him play again. However, even without him we should easily have enough about us to put Stoke away. PLAY MARVEAUX

We have nowhere near enough movement in our side for that to work. Aye, exactly. Until we get a coach who is capable of working with players of this calibre then its not really going anywhere, which is a massive shame. tbf the false no9 only really works when you have the calibre of xavi, bousquets, messi etc to pull it off. has anyone else worked it successfully without a very high calibre of player who have been in the system for a long time ? Think Roma did a decent job of it a few years back with Totti as the F9. They were one of the first to do it?
