Liverpool also provide the case studies on how that scenario can go oh so right (turning the Coutinho loot into Van Dijk, Allison and Fabinho which provided the spine that won everything over 5 years) and what not to do (spunking the Suarez money on fucking Balotelli and Lovren)
-
Definitely Twitter dirge - would be nearly 10x what Chelsea paid for Potter which was meant to be the record fee for a manager.
-
Was the main reason I stopped posting at Toontastic back around 2013/14. Clogged that forum with thread after thread about his throbbing man crush for Mike Ashley.
-
Even though he has spent 60 years denying all association and seems a bit of a tosser, Bobby Charlton would be it surely.
-
There are plenty of better, cheaper alternatives for that. Wouldn't it make sense to buy one of the clubs that already have an established reputation as a conveyor belt of talent vs spunking 350 million on a club who's 21st century development highlights are Andy Carroll, Paul Dummett and Peter Ramage

I'll have you know they have also been invited to America for a series of glamour fixtures against New Mexico United and San Antonio FC. NETD.
-
Double edged sword - just means the big teams will hoard more of those players and more of them will be stuck on the "9 loans in 7 years" treadmill. Lavia would still be playing PL2 with other kids rather than getting to breakthrough at Southampton without a buy back or sell on clause.
-
Last I saw he created a fake "Newcastle Fans against Sportwashing" twitter account and was using it to have week long conversations with his actual account. Thank god the UK doesn't have the same access to firearms as the Yanks.
-
They sure seem to bitch about money a lot - odd considering we signed Bruno, Trippier, Botman and Pope for not that much more than what Nunez will potentially cost them.
-
We could buy the both the Man City and Real Madrid squads for the price you would need to pay all of these clubs to either sacrifice their Champions League ambitions or their Premier League place (for the likes of Everton).

Compared to Koeman, Silva's transfer record wasn't too bad. Plus no manager truly has final say at Spurs with Daniel in charge - even those with the CVs of Mourinho and Conte were never given full free reign.

What the fuck is happening - I only just remembered it was on. Last time I experienced this was taking a 15 minute phone call in 2014 and missing five German goals against Brazil -
Combined with more likely guaranteed to be first choice. Arsenal have some pretty solid depth in attack and Balogun is due to come back from loan for next season after tearing up Ligue 1.

Is this a kink? You know you can get people to hurl abuse you and degrade you in real life right. They'll even dress up in leather and stick a gag in your mouth if you pay extra.

No manager has ever suffered for crashing and burning at Chelsea. Without fail they've pocketed a dump truck full of money and walked into another top flight gig that was at a higher level than the job they had prior to Chelsea. Only a fool would've stayed at Brighton in that situation.
-
Can't see how there can't have been - they are crushing it in the Champions League and they are only a point behind in the league from Dortmund who they literally play next. Would've thought you wait until that result to make the decision.

Third choice keeper making his first start in two and a half years in a Cup Final with minimal prep. For a guy with his previous big moment baggage I respect him for even getting out there again, let alone putting in a more than respectable shift. Maybe Courtois or Alisson could've saved one of the two goals but he is far down in the reasons why we lost.

Was thinking of playing staff travel roulette and heading to London for an extended weekend to soak it in pre game... but that is a bummer. Is there a reason for that - to prevent trouble i'm guessing? -
Not sure why people think this is will be swept underneath the rug. If that was the case, it wouldn't have got anywhere near this stage. Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea were caught with their pants down in 2008 by the takeover - if given the chance again they would've pulled all the same stunts they used when they attempted to block the Saudis from buying us. They may have formed an uneasy working truce, but the Premier League old guard will have been sharpening their knives for 14 years waiting for this moment. It is also why we have been relatively restrained with splashing the cash, our ownership and exec team aren't going to let them slip the same noose around our neck.

Non-Geordies, why do you support Newcastle United?

Grandfather is Scottish, but spent some time in the Durham mines as a lad before emigrating to New Zealand so always maintained a passing interest in the club - even now at 93. What really sparked it was FM 2005, which I got hooked on as a 14 year old and played as Newcastle because of the family connection (Starting off with all the Woodgate money made it fun introduction) combined with NZ satellite TV showing more and more Premier League games. Naturally just as I properly immersed myself in it all over the next couple of years, Ashley came along. -

I imagine the hierarchy look at it as worth it still despite the loss on paper. Even if he wasn't able to get any consistency in his form, the two goals he scored last season secured us 6 points when we were still in knee deep in a relegation fight. In a window that also bought us Bruno, Dan Burn and Trippier, to have that as your "fourth best buy" isn't a bad outcome.
