Scary, and probably already been said, but if Rafa goes, we will probably start next season with the same centre half pairing that started our last Championship season... and that was 7 year ago! Rafa staying is the only hope I have of a signifigant squad overhaul, and the timewasters/bottlers/fistpumpers being moved on and/or not given new contracts.

Well, hopefully next season they'll go as well without their usual 4-6 points off us. How they'll miss us! Hehe

In 2009, I was gutted, and even shed tears when we went down. This time, I fell nowt really... its been coming, and I'm almost glad its finally sorted. That is what Ashley has done. Just hope Rafa stays, but wont blame the bloke for getting out as quick as he can. I just hope an announcement is made one way or another, quickly.

Wonder if he'll do another of those canny interviews for Sky pre-match on sunday, like what he did before last seasons final match?

If (as is looking almost nailed on) we go down, I'd love to think the club would offer him whatever control and funds he needs, and ask him to give us one season to get us back up... if we fail, he can walk away. But then I remember how Ashley treated Shearer, and worry that even if Rafa wanted to stay, then he may not be given the chance.

Suppose when you win just 2 away games all season, and then cant beat your relegation rivals when you have the chances, then you deserve yo go down. Last home match should be fun if/when the Mackems beat Everton and its been confirmed before a ball is kicked.

Just seen, Dele Ali has been suspended for Spurs last 3 matches.... another bonus for us, maybe.... and hopefully the title will be Leicester's by then as well.

It's not about him and he shouldn't be a distraction. Non stop support to the team and Rafa and forget about Pardew, don't waste your oxygen on him. Non-stop support for Rafa would be quite wounding for Pardew's ego. Agree with those in bold... Pardew is Palaces problem now. Any chanting towards him could have the reverse effect and galvanise his players. Singing for Rafa and/or the team and making the atmosphere intimidating for their players should be the aim. If we were safe however, i'd be all for giving him pelters.

1 prediction correct so far. Arsenal doing us a favour today and Stoke next week and the above is more than achievable. Stoke could be the bogey... they seem to be on a bit of run, leaking 12 goals in last 3 games or summit?

As far as the vote goes, I don't think anyone can/will be too optimistic whilst we still need the other two to drop points, regardless of what we do. However, given our last 3 results/performances, I think we can get 6 points from the next 2, and then hope to avoid defeat against Spurs. Just gotta hope the Mackems and Norwich drop enough points to keep them behind, which I think (looking a their run-ins) is possible.

Great to come back from 2 down today... just wish we weren't a goal or two down before we start playing!! Anyway.. just done the predictor, and have us finishing 17th on 36 pts with Sunderland and Norwich both on 32. Assuming we can beat Palace and Villa, have allowed for a loss on the last day... just gotta hope the Mackems and Norwich results go as I predicted... but they both have difficult (on paper) run-ins.

Soccer Saturday panel going mad at the Shelvey dropping... Merson: "You've got to play your big players'... totally ignoring he's been fairly anonymous since the West Ham game. As said above, most of our players are playing sh*t, so I have no issue with Rafa trying other players. Its sh*t or bust really, and the players who had their chances so far haven't stepped up.

Next weeks game is a 'must win' according to Lascelles. Great, about time we had a must win game, after the Sunderland and Norwich ones! We had it in our own hands (to a degree), but now need others to slip up, and us to put an unbelievable run together. Oh, and a few snookers.

Aye, we're as good as down. Players have given up. Annoying thing is, even though he only had 10 games left, we still had/have games against teams around us, but the players couldn't give a ****.... they aren't even putting up a fight. Only Villa having been worse than us for longer, has saved us going down bottom. Don't blame Rafa at all, and now can only hope he fancies a one season hit at getting us back up. Give him control, let him clear out the bottlers, and restart.

Doubt it. We have Darlow, and then Woodman from the Academy. Last time this happened, was when we had Jak Alnwick in goal with Woodman as back-up, and weren't allowed an emergency then. I'm guessing you have to be down to one available keeper before you're allowed an emergency loan.
