Genuinely feel bad for him. Has got me thinking about our CM depth. I'm really concerned about Bruno and Big Jur - I'm not sure if anything happened to either of them we could justify having a squad player even close to them in quality.. Willock looked really good on Sat, so I think he's nailed the 3rd midfield slot, but with Shelvey man doon, we're a playmaker light. I also think we need another enforcer like Jur - I'm not sure Longstaff can do that role. Our priorities were a CF then a winger. As many have said, a CM now joins that top list before the window shuts.

At least Derby will lose their points record. To their rivals. Scenes for them.

Miguel Almirón (now playing for Atlanta United)

Lots of energy, some excellent runs and less ponderous in possession. Overall, a very good day for him. He just needs to get into the habit of being confident enough to hammer it with his right foot if he gets a sniff of a chance too rather than cutting back, as it seems defenders expect him to do that. -

This 100%. I hate Tiki Taka, as it is possession for possession's sake and can be easily nullified by defending with a deep midfield, but what we did today is the real deal - dominate the midfield and quick, incisive forward balls down the middle and both flanks. As many have said, we're a top striker away from routinely pasting teams 4 or 5 nil. -
What. A. Player. He's the real deal. Seriously, our best CM since Rob Lee. Better than Cabaye. Will probably end up being better than Rob Lee too. Legend in the making.

He's been immense today. If he keeps this up, we're laughing. -

Who'd have thunk that Bruno, Joe and Willock would make Colback and Lingard completely toothless. Brilliant effort by our midfield today. Can't remember a more one sided midfield battle. -

Still dissapointed we haven't secured a top CF and good RW yet, but Almiron's form and the fact Wilson isn't injured yet eases that for now. I'll be genuinely disappointed if the window closes and we haven't replaced Wood with a good number 9. -
8. Although I'd prefer to see a top-7-o-meter, as that should really be our target this year. Then top 6 next year, CL the year after, then a trophy. We haven't got the FCB holding us back any more.

What are your minimum expectations for this season? (2022/23)
JumpersForGoalposts replied to Rich's topic in Football
2nd round for LC, because it's a reserve team competition. 5th round for FA Cup, but not that bothered as it's literally luck of the draw to a point. Went harsh and said 7th in the league. Less wouldn't be a failure on Eddie's or the players part, but more a result of relatively underwhelming (barring Bruno and Botman) recruitment so far. -
James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

I can't help but feel that Leicester are going to really struggle this season, especially if anything happens to Vardy, who as an aging pace based player could see his abilities fall off a cliff any time now. They look a bit like Southampton did when all of their quality players were grabbed by 'big' clubs - didn't help them one bit. If I were Maddison I'd be really wary of planning on staying. Clearly not his call to accept the bid, but if Rogers sees that his heart isn't in Leicester... -
Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Our academy has been historically awful though. Off the top of my head, I can only think of Anderson, Dummett, Forster, Saylor, Carroll, Ramage, Chopra and the Longstaffs who did anything of note. Hardly a roll call of worldies. -
I must be the biggest plastic in the world because I was born and raised in Co. Durham, started supporting in 1991 and I've lived away from the NE for the last 22 years. Clearly I should only be allowed to support the m*ckems.

I hope when we play Man City Miggy scores the winning goal and later gives that Purple Drank driving nonce Grealish something to actually roll around on the floor about. Can't wait. -

What an absolute penis. 'You're welcome for all the sexism - you wouldn't have achieved anything without my "banter"'. What. A. Cock. -
I can't help but think that any cunt caught hoying stuff at the match should be slapped with a life time banning order. No place for that in 2022, especially considering how many bairns go to matches now.

Am in Watford right now because reasons. Heard the crowd noise, so had a stroll to the ground to sample some atmosphere. Got to say, Vicarage Road is one if the most underwhelming stadiums I've ever been to. It must be properly depressing to be a Watford fan and have that shithole as your weekend look-forward.

That team picks itself for me. As others have said, Longstaff could get the nod over Willock, but I hope not. Hopefully Almiron maintains his beast mode and Wood gets nowhere near the pitch. First start of the season I've been excited for for a decade! -
Just out of interest, why do Liverpool fans seems to have a free pass to throw fireworks on the pitch any time they like? If any other club did it, they'd start seeing matches abandoned. FA darlings and then some.

Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
JumpersForGoalposts replied to BeloEmre's topic in Football
I'm not disagreeing that Joelinton is a useless striker. I'm pointing out that having Wood up front is a waste of a player on the pitch. Even playing a youth striker would be better than having Wood play at this point in time. You argument that we should play Wood because Joelinton is a poor striker is false equivalence. Other options are available. -
I heard that he puts his socks on before his pants. I heard he puts milk in before the cereal. Also, he never drinks the bottom inch of his pint in the pub.

It's been pretty well covered in the media. Mercenary players with no loyalty, narcissistic and self serving. Have a Google.
