Steve Howey told me all about trying to play centre forward

The way the league is shaping up if Wolves finish 9th or 10th we'll look back and think that's a great point. If Wolves finish 14th then we should have beat them. All we can do is beat all the shite/bottom half. City lost there without Rodri, we've got a point with 20% - 25% of our squad missing, it's obviously not an easy place to go. We take the point and carry on.
-
Lots of squad/transfer window talk in other threads, especially after games/Tonali's ban etc...this feels like the logical place to bring all those discussions together. From what I've seen and heard of Ashworth, he's big on being "opportunistic" if a player who fits where we want to go is available. Feels like we're all thinking it's time to have a mid- to long-term plan and stick to it, rather than change the plan and approach just because a player happens to become available.
-
I actually said to my lad just after HT I wonder if the plan is to sack off the Carabao on Wednesday so not make too many changes tonight so we're fighting as fit as possible for Arsenal and Dortmund. Has to be the thinking

Good point all things considered, mind the way Goodman and that other fucker were going on for most of the game you'd think we were a bang average side who've just burgled a smash and grab point at the Bernabeu after being battered for 90 minutes.
-
I expect us to be under the pump for the first 20 - 25 minutes and then take over. Might need to come from behind but fancy us to win. 1-3.
-
Cheers for the tip, didn't take long did it

They are thick as shit. What a world they must inhabit where "opponents in a football match" means gossing on their supporters, kicking their heads in, or putting the bus windows through. Heaven forbid people get along and have a pint with each other and a bit of craic. Fucking retards.
-
With it "only" being a ban from competitive football, you'd think we'll keep him ticking over well enough as we'll probably go to Saudi in January during the break and play a couple of games, same in February where there's usually a gap if we're out of the cup, and again do something during the March international break, then it's end of season and a normal pre-season. Be interesting to see how Toney comes back but Tonali shouldn't be a million miles away from being able to come straight back in all guns blazing if he's still training.

Toulouse fans sound exactly like PSG did at our place. Guess it's not just England where a good chunk of the chants are all the same. No clue what they're actually singing like so I may be talking total shite.

Milburn next to the Leazes corner was weird as fuck tonight. About half an hour before kick off some rough bloke asked if I'd been before and knew what I was in for - then proceeded to sit in silence for more or less the whole game. Lad giving it the biggun in the bar about supporting the lads before the game then sitting recording it on his phone. Others more pre-occupied with giving it back to the "sit down" moaners than just getting on with it and enjoying themselves. Couple next to me had blatantly never been to a game in their lives. Some lively moments but that might have just been me losing myself and getting into it as normal.

Feels like we've learned some valuable lessons tonight that will stand us in good stead for the next 5 - 10 years. Thought they were excellent and controlled it well without being flashy and got the job done. Proper big boys football. First half in particular thought we were forcing it too much and just needed to keep it and be patient and wait to drag them out of position, but not a disaster contrary to what some I've spoke to in the last hour would think. Onwards and upwards.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Kilcline replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Think if either of them does the double on the other and we do the double over Dortmund that's us through -
What makes me laugh is when you see the bloke lying down in League Two and games like that. I think in my life I've only seen Ronaldinho, Messi and De Bruyne actually score under the wall like that. Waste of time.
-
I'm pretty confident of us doing the double over these. Then hopefully one of PSG/Milan do the same to the other and that's us through

"He's having a tough time, that's for sure. But it's nothing compared to how I was treated at <insert ex-Bruce managed club here>."

1 minute on women's facilities, 2 minutes on their leaky roof, 25 minutes talking about Ginsters
-
I'm erring on it being on the shorter side like. Would be shocked if it was longer than 12 months unless there's proof of match fixing.

When you've got 12/1 And you're trying to lump on That's Tonali When you're desperate, can't wait You'll even use Fun88 That's Tonali We ask the ref Get the yellow out Get the yellow out 'Cos we've lumped on Tonali Bookies shout You're not cashing out You're not cashing out 'Cos you've lumped on Tonali

Just got my email now, although it doesn't say if I'll be paying nothing, which it was when I first did it, or £22, which it was when I re-applied. Presumably they've had to send these as they'd be on shaky ground and probably end up with credit card chargebacks etc if they'd just gone ahead and charged everyone the correct price, even though we'd all guessed it was just a cock-up but any new members post PSG or applying for the first time might have thought this is the norm. Silver lining is it might knock the sorting of our shite website nearer the top of the agenda, if it isn't already there!
-
I've not received an email yet - probably cost myself the £22 for my son's ticket by going in and checking if they'd updated the pricing. Was cynical they'd just bin off everyone who had applied for a "free" ticket.
-
Hopefully when we get a few more partners some might be savvy enough to give us discounts or something, bit of extra value on our memberships and something different from emails from the club asking if I fancy going to Turkey for a hair transplant
-
He's back training with them now, it was just the first half of his was a total ban. He was pictured doing stuff there in August like so presumably they've just said "we're monitoring his fitness" - if the FA/anyone actually bothered to question or challenge it
