Awful piece that and the sad thing is, that people will believe it. Same old rubbish being spewed once more. :thdn:

True, the media are extremely powerful in shaping people's mind just look at the election campaign how many people will vote Conservative  just because the sun tell them too. I just don't know why they do it too us are there any other clubs that get similar treatment ?

As heated and tense as your London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and Glasgow varieties, Newcastle have to go back as far as April 2008 for their last victory over Sunderland.

As far back? It was bloody 2 years ago, man.

The standard of Journalism is shocking in this country. I'm not sure how it is in others but every other article in the papers is bollocks, uninformed or lazy, especially when it comes to sports.

It's got to the points when judging a journalist, it's cunt until proven otherwise.

Also on TT, someone linked to her report about the Forest game in the Irish Times. Unlike the Guardian report, it talked in detail about the game, barely mentioned the Carroll/Taylor incident, and made no insinuations about Hughton. Same "journo", completely different report.

Glendenning's a mackem too, so it's probably all some crappy Guardian in-joke. David Lacey used to be all right, but their current writers are knobs. Peel back the witicisms and there's not a lot of insight or understanding there.

Glendenning's not really a Mackem though, I think Sunderland are just his adopted team.

Who is that prick they keep dragging up for an interview on the local news nowadays - editor of some magazine no one's ever heard of ?

He always seems to make snidey negative comments about us - has he got any qualification to speak publicly about football in general or Newcastle in particular ?

probably.  http://www.playersincevents.co.uk/index.php/20090702230/players-inc-magazine/current-issue/current-issue.html is his magazine.  Never once bought it.  For some reason he's build up a rapport with sections of the media and they always look to go to him ahead of Mark Jensen or Michael Martin.

I find Steve Wraith ok, at least he's one of us - although he does seem to be the media's darling rent-a-quote for some reason.

he's good mates with Pete Graves.  When Graves was at Real (Century) they used to use him loads.  Now Graves has gone to SkySports News they've used him more.
