Achieved all he can at Man United. His long term future was never going to be there after doing so well this season. Surprised he's moving now, thought he'd want to work with Ferguson another year.

Fergy will be fuming.

Who would you rather play for, Man U or Real Madrid. Real is every players dream, they may not currently be the top team but in terms of the most attractive club, location, massive money and superstar status guaranteed there is no choice. Manchester is a shit hole, Ronaldo has proved his worth, reached as high as he could ever go with Man U so time to move on. Who's to say that Fergie/Glazers big bluff about he's going nowhere is just part of the plan to up the price

They will need two players to replace him. Probably a natural right winger and an out-and-out striker. Bentley and Berbatov perhaps?

Possibly Benzima for the striker as he's latest one they've been linked with. I'm not really bothered to be honest, just delighted the little prick is leaving.

Quaresma is now like Ronaldo used to be, only Quaresma is older. One trick pony with no end product.

I think this is probably not emphasised enough when people discuss Man U so we should all do our bit to put that right.

Here's a thought Barca losing Ronaldinho and Eto'o surely they would be sniffing their noses at Ronaldo?

Ronaldo, Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and Bojan in the same team!

Its difficult to see how Ronaldo could possibly better himself at Man Utd. It makes sense in terms of his career to bow out after arguably giving the most impressive season by a single player in Premier League history. <tin hat time>

Even better than Mike Hooper in 93/94?

City of Madrid > City of Manchester in every aspect.

Madrid trophies > Manchester.

Madrid in CL > Manchester in CL.

Madrid's legendary players > ManU's legendary players.

Bernabeu > Old Trafford.

Would be a good move for him if he wants to step up a level or two and aim to be a legendary winger on the global stage by the time he retires, as opposed to another Cantona so to speak.

except right now man utd is the better team. football wise moving to real madrid is not a step up.

Right now i think Manchester can trash Madrid with their reserves team.

All the elite sides go through phases where they go from being unbelievably good, to just about scraping together a title challenge. ManU were there a few years ago, when even his captain was questioning the signings and players at the club.

If Madrid sign Ronaldo, thats one big step towards them being a considerably better side. They already have a good squad with some good players, just not enough "glue" to hold them all together. And thats why they'll be wanting Ronaldo, along with another key player or two no doubt - the aim is obviously to form a good side by signing him.

Having the world's best footballer in their squad will probably help out their cause. Will obviously be detrimental to Manu aswell.

(Not to say they're a one man team, btw, but having a winger that can score 42 goals a season is handy)

Let's hope Nani gets his act together, eh. For their sake, obviously. I'm loving it that he's off tbh. If it wasn't for him we'd have only conceded 7 against them this season.
