The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]

Ray Ranson (x-toon, Coventry owner) is playing hard ball as we want Daniel Fox for £1.5 million but Cov want £3 mill

S.Carr is desperate to return to football.

JFK going to watch Mbia today. Also going to take a deek at Adil Rami.

Richard Money is checking out Gateshead lad Danny Graham. Fellow Gateshead lad Andy Carrol going to get offered a five year deal.

Fininan failed a medical. He must be really f***ed if he has failed our medical

I think there could be some truth in the Daniel Fox bid, he's a left back and he played under Richard Money @ Walsell and when Coventry bought him Wise was trying to sign him for Leeds.

Who hasn't been linked with Stephen Hunt?

Wullie should be thrilled as he plays left wing and thus would depose Duff.

On a more serious note, He's blowing a bit hot and cold this season making stupid statements to the press about the 5 million pound get out clause in his contact. Those at Saturdays game claim £5 would be too much!!!!!

These loan signings are probably a figment of JFK's vivid imagination.

The two norwegians are probably Flo and Hovland. Hovland has been here on a trial recently. Speaking about norwegians, I have it on good authority that Per Ciljan Skjelbred won't go anywhere in January.

confirmed in the Chronicle today(or maybe they got their info from this forum more likely)

Joe Kinnear was reportedly flying to France today on another scouting mission as he looks to reinforce his injury-hit squad. The Newcastle United manager, who is still trying to do a deal with Rennes to bring Stephane M'Bia to Tyneside, is also eyeing up another target.

Whilst Kinnear will be attending the Lille versus Rennes league game to see whether to up his £5 million for Rennes midfielder M'Bia, he is also there to evaluate whether Lille defender Adil Rami would be a worthwhile addition to his ranks.

Rated at £2 million, Kinnear is hoping to see whether the Corsican of Moroccan origin could possibly have the same impact at the heart of the Toon defence as his fellow countryman Sebastien Bassong.

At 6'3", the 23-year old certainly has the physical stature for the Premier League, but whether he has the mentality to come to a troubled club like Newcastle and settle in quickly remains to be seen.

No quotes mind.

Good to see we are developing for the future and signing lots of promising youth players. One area of the club that seems to be going forward!

Yeah great.. well it would be if we had a fkn future.

Better to have a club to support in the long term without having to spend massive amounts of money (which we don't have), if we had done this years ago we wouldn't be in the position we are in now!

Jesus wept man sort it fucking out, the clubs prem status is at risk.

It is a cliche but it really is very, very difficult to sign players in this window. Even the deals people have been talking about for a while now haven't started to go through.

I appreciate that some clubs need signings more than others, and quickly, but if nobody is making the first move, nobody gets business done.

Yeah its especially difficult when you offer half of what the players are valued at by their clubs.

Not signing anyone by the 19th of January is perfectly understandable.

Not knowing what your budget is or whether the owners realise the situation or whether the manager is in charge of recruitment or whether the manager is staying long-term is not.

The apparent lack of communication between the people in charge of this club is bonkers.

SSN Transfer Centre clockwatch: 13.40  Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear is hoping to be given freedom in the transfer market to make his own decisions.

Why do they even bother writing that, horrible journalism.

I can see the report at 11.40 pm on Jan the 31st

SSN Transfer Centre clockwatch: 23.40  Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear is alone in the dugout necking some barley wine and gently sobbing like a bairn.
