dcmk
It's hard to believe that less than 12 months ago he hardly looked capable of making it in the Championship and now he's one of the brightest prospects in England. I can’t remember a player ever making so much good progress in such a short space of time at Newcastle. A fair few people on here could see he was talented despite not scoring often... not to mention being totally isolated up front alone most games. Guest dazzanufc1892
i would say to carroll, if he goes to chelsea, arsenal, man utd, man city, he isnt going to play. if he goes spurs he would be bench to start, maybe only liverpool he would start. everton are going to be no better. if we said to the the lad tiote, ben arfa, krul, williamson, showed him the solid spine, and promised 4 players to be solid around this. he would have no need to leave for at least 2 - 3 years
AyeDubbleYoo
If Carroll keeps being as good, we get Ben Arfa, maybe a couple of decent signings... we will be the club that is signing players from rivals, not the one that is selling them. sturla
Drogba wishes he was as good as Carroll at 21 tbh Drogba's first prolific scoring season was at 24(stats from league 1): Guingamp 2001–02 Apps 11 Goals 3 Age 23 Guingamp 2002–03 Apps 34 Goals 17 Age 24 Marseille 2003–04 Apps 35 Goals 19 Age 25 Chelsea 2004–05 Apps 26 Goals 10 Age 26 Doesn't mean that Carroll will become better than Drogba, just highlights that Carroll is still very young! Wallace
Chelsea changed their formation yesterday just to deal with Carroll. Just amazing the impact he has made this season.
sturla
Carroll could also end up as Andy Johnson. There are some similarities ( but bear in mind that Carroll hasn't finished the season and could well only score a handful the second part of the season). Andy was at a similar age when he had fantastic season with Palace in the Championship, scoring 32 in all competition. His first year in the PL he was only a year older than Carroll is now. He finished that season with 21 goals, although 8 of those were penalties ( a record in the PL). He hasn't been able to produce such a season since then, only making double digits once with Everton (11 goals).
AyeDubbleYoo
He could end up like anything, it's impossible to tell. But at the moment he looks brilliant, so lets enjoy it.

Mr. Snrub
Somehow he's been overlooked for Sports Personality Of The Year. How did that happen? He beats up women. Personally I don't give a shit, but I assume the BBC don't want to be associated with that kind of personality.
Ketsbaia
Put him in that Barcelona team and he makes them perfect. Aerial presence ftw!

Nobody
Put him in that Barcelona team and he makes them perfect. Aerial presence ftw! Real Madrid needed him more tonight, as they couldn't keep possession he would have been someone they could have hoofed it to. He would have done more for them than Benzema did. Cronky
He has the ability, but I worry that he's being a bit over-egged at the moment. His inexperience does show from time to time, and I'd rather he was allowed to continue to develop without so much publicity. Typical of the sort of moment that I'm thinking of came in the first half, when a cross came to the far post, where Shola was waiting to nod it back. Instead of making a run down the centre, Carroll drifted towards the far post as well, watching the ball, so when the nod back came, there was no-one there. It was a park footballer's mistake. He needs to relax, not try to do everything himself, and be aware of what's going on around him a bit more.
