Training with first team for a few weeks won’t be too much to ask for?

In a couple of years time perhaps.

you got to know the cartel clubs would offer guarantee first team appearances contract to these boys. If we don’t show them we would be willing to do the same, they will definitely go.

I think you’re mistaken if you think the likes of Man City or Arsenal are going round guaranteeing first team appearances to 14 year olds.

Appreciate the insights, @Minhosa. It's so critical that our academy ups is game so this is all really encouraging.

I asked ChatGPT to create a table which defined each PL club using two metrics - pathway into first team and revenue generation - and it reckons that, cumulatively, we're the team getting the least out of its academy.

Obviously it's AI so you can't put too much weight into its conclusions but I think it's probably true.

🟥 Manchester United

Obviously we've got a lot of work to do, but that list is a bit mad. It has us beneath the likes of Fulham, Forest, Bournemouth, Wolves and Brentford but just Anderson alone, an England international and likely £100m player, plus Longstaff with 200+ PL/CL games and Miley coming through puts us far ahead of anything any of those clubs have produced from within.

Just a quick scan of that makes it obviously nonsense. Wolves, for example, apprently developed Semedo, who they bought when he was 26,  and Fabio Silva, who cost them around £30m? Palace brought through Olise, who had played for two seasons at Reading? Brentford a three star pathway, and four star revenue. Who have they produced? Grabban joined Forest when he was 30. I've only looked at a couple teams to figure that out too.

 Bloody thing. Still, we're certainly a long way behind those we're supposed to be chasing. Man City and Chelsea are just printing money.

I’d put slightly more weight into its conclusions if it had us in there instead of Southampton.

And our pathway might have been better had we better players to follow any path. Its not like the Premier league is full of our ex youth teams players.

Excellent range of close passing, great touch and carrying control as well as understanding when to release the ball with a high tempo. Looks really promising

What a fucking name.

LESECOND YEUTEMBIP

YOU'LL NEVER SING THAT

Yeutembip started for England U16 in a 1-1 draw against USA in Florida this evening. I think he might actually have been Captain.

Wasn't the only Newcastle player either. Jayden Kouossu scored the goal for England on his youth international debut.
