The Newcastle United Transfer Thread MkII

Thing with Earnshaw is, you buy him for £3m, gets you 20 goals, then 12 to 18 months later another Championship club pays a similar amount and the cycle continues.

Hameur Bouazza terminated his contract in Turkey after one game, wanting to come back to England. Free.

Not saying I'd want him, not saying I wouldn't, just putting it out there.

I'd most definitely take him. Good left peg, quick and strong.

Free transfer, low wages and backup for Jonas.

As said previously, Earnshaw is another one of those yo-yo forwards that does well in the championship and never quite makes it in the premiership.  That said, has he done anything this season so far except miss a penalty?  McGoldrick has been the one scoring goals for Forest hasn't he?

Beckford, Loven, Campbell and 3 loan signings (winger, creative midfielder and left back) for cover would be ideal imo.

This sounds good to me, too good in fact.

Earnshaw can score goals at this level. Even though he has been around a bit he still seems very raw to me. He is very much a confidence driven player, when he's good he is very good (at this level) when he is bad he is terrible. Has had some really good games for Wales in the past and hasn't always looked out of place on the International Stage. It would be carnarge if both he and Ameobi had a bad game together it would be like Bambi and it's short ass twin playing together.

There must be some other decent short-arse quick strikers around that we could snap up. I know he might have the ability to do a decent job but I would hate to see Earnshaw playing for us - he's about as Championship as it gets.

I'd much rather we signed someone younger who has the potential to develop into a Premier League player.

Danny Haynes is still good?

From Sky Sports (although I guess The Journal too!!):

Danish striker Peter Lovenkrands has revealed he would welcome the opportunity to secure a return to Newcastle United.

Lovenkrands left St James' Park at the end of last season after scoring three goals in 12 Premier League appearances following his arrival in January.

He has yet to find a new team and has recently been training with former club Rangers as he weighs up his options for the coming season.

Newcastle's caretaker boss Chris Hughton reportedly wants the 29-year-old back in his squad and Lovenkrands confirmed he would be keen to rejoin the club despite their relegation to the Championship.

"Of course I would be interested in coming back to Newcastle," Lovenkrands told The Journal.

"I really enjoyed my time at the club and would certainly be interested in hearing what they had to say.

"As far as I know there has been nothing concrete from them although there has been a bit of interest. I have had a few offers from other clubs as well and there are a few things on the table at the moment for me.

"I know Newcastle are a Championship club now, but they still have great fans and I don't think they will be in the Championship for long."
