Cajun
If he wants a guaranteed start every game he should probably just sign a new contract at Sheffield. Yep and give up much hope of playing in the premiership any time soon.
TRon
The other possiblity is that as we are no longer a big spending club, he might have got a better offer from another club. 1878 says Everton want him, and they are one of the few bigger clubs who are bargain basement hunting. Probably suits them to compete with us for players rather than clubs in their own division as they are on a pretty tight budget these days.

Well they they can turn around and sell him to Manchester City for stupid money in two years time.
Guest Roger Kint
For Kilgallon it probably makes sense to stick the season out at Shef Utd, he gets regular football til June and has considerably more options to pick from with Everton and no doubt 4 or 5 more on a free with higher wages for him as well, imo thats what his agent will have told him rather than sign for us now and potentially lose out financially. Guest Phil K
Alright fuckfaces, if you don't like Kris Commons (who is a winger by the way) then replace him with someone you do like - Graham Norton perhaps? loser Oh dear. Abusing someone else because they don't agree with you ? Someone's scraping the barrel and trawling through threads (alliteration, king me) to score points. loser Oh dear once again....whoops ! Nearly tripped over your pet lip !
TRon
With Simpson as well as Kilgallon possibly holding out for better wages it seems that player agents are having a hard time coming to terms with the financial reality facing most clubs these days. A lot of these players are pretty ordinairy as well.

The financial state in the PL/CCC cant have gone by them unoticed?
Village Idiot
Sometimes it reminds me of FM when I try to sign some sod on a lower division that's on 500/week and he goes out and asks for 5000. Maybe that game is more realistic than I thought.
Guest
Like I thought with Kilgallon, seems to think that because his contract is running down, clubs are just going to throw an extra £10k or whatever a week at him. Not good enough for that, fee or no fee.

LooneyToonArmy
11.23 Reports are suggesting Sunderland have entered the race to sign Sheffield United defender Matthew Kilgallon, who was recently the subject of interest from Burnley.
Nicky
Caulkins twitter says he was at Sunderland today to push through a £2m deal. So much for wanting to stay till the summer then; "Matt Kilgallon was at #Safc training ground today & club to push thro £2m signing from Sheff U shortly. Had also been chased by #NUFC." TRon
Poor deluded fool Also £2m? Bruce probably figures it's worth risking £2m on promising young talent than wasting big money on over the hill midfielders who get you relegated.

Dokko
Haven't they already spent £20m on Turner & Ferdinand?
Guest
Sell Ferdinand and sign Onyewu, for no other reason than them having Turner and Gooch in defence.

Even so it's hardly old age for a defender.
