Tiresias
I also thinking he's launching it far less now (even if more than anyone else and clearly not the most technical guy), it's almost as if someone was telling him to hoof it all the time last season
alexf
I know stats don't mean much but their must be a concious effort this season to keep it on the floor seeing as we were top of the long ball charts last season and this year we're near the bottom of it. Plus there was that loud telling off of Iron Mike at spurs when he went long for no reason.
Cajun
Didn't Pardew say at the start of the season he wanted to play it on the floor more? One thing that wasn't a lie.
henke
Is Debuchy back next week? If he is it'll be interesting to see who gets dropped, it shouldn't be Willo though.
nufc4eva
Is Debuchy back next week? If he is it'll be interesting to see who gets dropped, it shouldn't be Willo though. It cant be willo. We are noticeably more solid with him there this season
Ikon
I'd put Colo on the bench!
nufc4eva
I'd put Colo on the bench! Yip, mym back centre
henke
I'd put Colo on the bench! I would as well, but i think it'll be MYM that gets dropped.

Ronaldo
Can't really drop him, tbh. Winning team and all that. I'd bring Debuchy back and put MYM back into the middle.
Dr.Spaceman
Can't really drop him, tbh. Winning team and all that. I'd bring Debuchy back and put MYM back into the middle. Colo > MYM tbh

Dave
Was quite comical how many times Yanga-Mbiwa played him the ball yesterday in positions none of the others would. Clearly didn't get the memo.
relámpago blanco
Quickly turning into a it of an idol for me, I feel a lot more confident with him at the back, especially with Mbiwa's relatively decent pace.
colinmk
I also thinking he's launching it far less now (even if more than anyone else and clearly not the most technical guy), it's almost as if someone was telling him to hoof it all the time last season I'm glad this has been accepted now, after all the bullshit about it being the players choosing to hoof it rather than Pardew telling them. Colo was doing it just as much(more I think) then.

Colo was doing it just as much(more I think) then. Wrong I'm afraid, Willo and Simpson were by far the worst offenders. Yes Williamson is hoofing it less now, but he's also got good footballers to either side of him and Cabaye and Tiote playing much better in front. colinmk
I'm not going to spend any time finding it but there were stats at the time which showed Colo was one of the worst offenders. So you think Williamson's hoofing was almost entirely down to Simpson then? Don't believe it for a second.
STM
Seems to be the only one who is allowed to hoof. Which I dont really mind, as his strengths are elsewhere. We know he's got limitations but you wont see any criticism coming from me.

BrettNUFC
Rightly so. Had to be down to Colo/MYM for the drop. Be very surprised if it's not Colo given the nod. Personally would like MYM but no complaints if it is Colo, nice to have such good competition for places.

Newcastle Fan
I've been a big big critic of his but i have to say he won me over, such a great assured performance today, well played son.
