Makes him instantly more likeable than most footballers.

He'll do. He looked very effective against us this year and he seemed to have turned his career around. Might do the world of good for him to get away from London. Dave
Proper gobshite isn't he? Decent enough signing like.
STM
As someone else mentioned, Hughton will have worked with him at Spurs. Correct?
Shayno
I think he's premiership quality as well. Not top 10 mind, but he should be able to hold his own.
AyeDubbleYoo
Can we agree to not post anything along the lines of 'headless chicken' and/or 'no end product' until he's had a decent amount of games?
Ronaldo
Can we agree to not post anything along the lines of 'headless chicken' and/or 'no end product' until he's had a decent amount of games? There was a point when he looked like he would be more successful than Lennon if I remember right, potentially Premier League quality.
BottledDog
Great stuff. Shows up those who seem to think they have the inside track on the club. Well done Derek, Hughton etc.

Liam Liam Liam O
http://www.fansonline.net/middlesbrough/mb/view.php?id=1680809 for the whole lot. Good point in there about them letting Yeates go. It's almost as if Strachan wants them to fail.
Guest guinness_fiend
Couple of encouraging things about this transfer. 1 - He wanted to join us. 2 - Hughton seems to actually know our weaknesses and be trying to address them. 3 - Hughton seems didn't just say 'we've got Pancrate for the right, that's it'... he realised we needed cover and persuaded Ashley to buy someone. Hate to give them credit, but still. Corrected your post (annoyingly, I know). The gaffer deserves the credit here, methinks. Even though he has been shown up on occasions during the course of the season for his tactical ineptitude, he has gone about his business quietly and efficiently. Dokko
Amaretto and coke is lush like, I don't even like coke but that drink is just too nice. Started drinking it with diet coke, tastes much better, a little too sweet with full phat coke.

Sure you're right, but either way the club could have vetoed the signing if they considered that they had already tried to solve the RW issue. Wouldn't have been surprised if they had. Consortium of one
This is great news. Routledge, Simpson, Jonas & Enrique give us good pace down the flanks that should open up space in the middle of the pitch. A creative CM to manage that space would be ideal but I don't see it happening as we'd have to sell off one of Smith, Barton or Nolan to make it work. That being said, I can us playing 4-5-1 with Barton and Guthrie in the middle and Nolan in the hole behind Carroll or Shola. Maybe even Lovenkrands with his pace.
