Segun Oluwaniyi
South Korea have as good chance as anyone to make it out of their group I think, wouldn't surprise Lee attracts interest from stronger clubs after the world cup. Fighting with Argentina and Greece for that second spot.
johnnypd
Lee He's been one of my favorite players since he made his pro debut and I'm ridiculously happy that he's making it in the prem. We should definitely look to sign him if Bolton go down. I would for a full calendar year. reminds me of Solano a bit. clever little player.
Nordstrom
NEWCASTLE United boss Chris Hughton may turn to Manchester United young gun Tom Cleverley next season. The Chronicle understands that, while Hughton has batted away transfer talk in the last week after receiving public backing from his board, he and recently appointed chief scout Graham Carr have begun the process of drawing up two different lists of targets for next season, pending promotion. A United source said: “It is looking like a case of ‘business as usual’ and behind the scenes they are sticking to their transfer plans. “Next season is also being assessed and there are two different scenarios. “Chris is trying to build for next season but knows the club’s longer-term strategy is to bring in youngsters in a similar manner to Arsenal.” The 20-year-old England under-21 star will be looking to add to his first-team experience again next term, and St James’ Park would be an exciting proposition for a loan deal next season – especially if United regain their Premier League place. Hughton was interested in Cleverley last season, but the Old Trafford youngster opted to sign for Watford on loan in August, with the deal quickly extended until the end of this campaign after making an instant impression at Vicarage Road. Cleverley missed last weekend’s clash with Newcastle due to suspension, but has chipped in with 10 goals this season from midfield in 25 appearances. Hughton was an interested spectator at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday night and watched Cleverley star for the England under-21s against Greece, alongside Geordie Andy Carroll. Just last week Hughton admitted he was an admirer of the Basingstoke-born player ahead of the trip to Hertfordshire. Hughton was also able to run the rule over another player who has previously interested him, teenage winger and Arsenal youngster Jack Wilshere, who also starred for Stuart Pearce’s side. Hughton enquired about Wilshere earlier this season but was told the young Emirates Stadium star was only interested in playing at top-flight level, and a move to Bolton Wanderers quickly followed as the 18-year-old signed for Owen Coyle’s side. United also remain committed to unearthing young raw talent from across Europe and their scouting network across the Continent has remained in operation throughout the Mike Ashley era. Signings in the mould of Hungarian youth international Tamas Kadar, Slovene Haris Vuckic and Swede Samuel Adjei are set to continue. Vuckic could make a comeback on Tuesday night when Newcastle’s second string take on FA Vase holders Whitley Bay at Hillheads Park (7.30).

Great to have a long term strategy but we need to get this type of player instead of talking about it and also players too keep us in the top flight . johnnypd
hardly a long term strategy if we're only signing them on loan

Stifler
I've just been watching that O'hara in todays Portsmouth game and he was impressive, he has also been impressive alot this season. A real box to box midfielder who can act as a play maker. I think we should atleast have a look at him.

johnnypd
Err, he's out of contract in the summer. may be, but the article is on about loan signings. the definition of a 'short term' move.
Doctor Zaius
What about Jermaine Pennant? He's having a bit of a nightmare in Spain isnt he? Proven Prem player, only 27. Very good for Birmingham a few year back. Would do for cover or challenge Routledge for a place, even if he is a bit of a cunt.

Very good for Birmingham a few year back. Would do for cover or challenge Routledge for a place, even if he is a bit of a c***. Nah, he's been shit for a while and would demand high wages. Like you said, he's also a cunt. We've had enough cunts over the years.
Village Idiot
He's on huge wages at Zaragoza, who'd be delighted to get rid.

QBG
Looking unlilkely that Carragher will be offfered a new deal at Liverpool. Would take him, experienced, can play across the back four and would fit in well if we kept all of our current scouse lads.
SEMTEX
Looking unlilkely that Carragher will be offfered a new deal at Liverpool. Would take him, experienced, can play across the back four and would fit in well if we kept all of our current scouse lads. I'd take him too but I think it'd be pretty unlikely he'd come here and to be honest, I'd rather not have the left-overs from another "top 4" team. Even if on paper he'd improve our squad. I'm fed up of the Alan Smith, Geremi, Nicky Butt etc type players, bring us youthful potential sil vous plait. I'm conflicted!
QBG
True that would be my only issue that if he did come he may decline like Smith, Butt and Geremi have all done.
Foluwashola
We would have no chance of getting Carragher and he is probably one of the most over-rated players in the premiership. If it were possible would take him but it doesn't bother me in the slightest that it most likely isn't.
colinmk
James McCarthy at Wigan has made the step up look easy, would be a good addition to the midfield with a good solid defensive minded player behind him.
jdckelly
carraghers a bit overrated if you ask me, time is against him and his wage demands would be stupid so its a no from me

If it were possible would take him but it doesn't bother me in the slightest that it most likely isn't. I don't think it's that far fetched. It's been widely rumoured that he doesn't get on with Benitez and a mate of mine knows someone who was in a bar when Carragher was openly slagging him off. Now that his performances have dropped (and there wouldn't be much of a fans backlash anymore if Benitez let him go) it's feasible that he'll leave. I think he'll only stay there if Benitez goes or Gerrard spits his dummy out over it. If he's a free agent then none of the top sides will come in for him so he might fancy playing in front of 50k every other week. You could do with steering clear though. He's always been overrated but has deteriorated into just being downright crap over the past 18months.
Amir_9
Id take him tbf, if we had a good manager, we could get something out of him.

Could see Tottenham/Villa possibly even City taking a misguided punt on him, just don't think we would even attempt to get him with him undoubtably after a massive salary.
