Chicane
Wow that's heartbreaking news to wake up to. That goal to make it 4-4 against Arsenal is one of the highest feelings of elation I've felt in a long time as a Newcastle fan. RIP.
Foluwashola
Hasn't sunk in yet. 30 years old ffs, always seemed a good bloke off the field too. Shame it's so long until we properly get to pay our respects.

Ikon
Wish I could just wake up tomorrow and that it all was just a bad dream. It's obviously very sad to see and hear all the tributes and it makes you struggle to keep your eyes dry, but at the same time they make me a bit happy in a way, to see how well liked, respected and loved he was and that makes me proud. You will be missed, but never forgotten Tiote.

Sir Toon
Just when you think that you dont really care about the players of today and say you dont feel part of it like the olden days. Things like this happen to prove you wrong. Each loss still hitting you like a stun grenade.
LRD
So is it Cheik or Cheick? Seem to recall Cheik in the Premier League players list but basically every media has him as Cheick. Just thought that we should correctly reflect his name in the thread header and such.

TTom
R.I.P Cheick, always seemed like a great guy, such a tragedy to die so young. Will never forget his goal against Arsenal.
Danh1
Can't believe this, absolutely heart breaking. Him and Ben Arfa two of my favourite NUFC players when they were here. Thanks for some great memories, R.I.P.
B-more Mag
Cheick Tiote 'had most beautiful smile in football' - McClaren "At Newcastle if [Papiss] Cisse and Cheick were smiling I knew the world was OK," McClaren told BBC 5 live. "He was the kind of player that everyone wants in their team." "I knew him first as a young player at Twente. He was the toughest player I've ever seen. "On the field and in training he was such a competitor. He wanted to win every game, kick every player and win every tackle. "He was a winner. I just can't believe it. "Some days we would have to pull him out of training because he was such a ferocious competitor, such a winner. He was a warrior and could play too. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40167213

mighty__mag
Would hope we see a mark of respect and armbands for this warrior when Scotland take on England at the weekend.
nemtizz
Used to kick the shit out of Barton in training, IIRC.
Twinport53
Used to kick the s*** out of Barton in training, IIRC. Sure Dummett said something like "you would receive the ball in training and immediately feel the wind change... you knew Tiote was coming for you" RIP the destroyer. Stottie
Really sad to hear this. RIP big Cheick. He did score another screamer, I reckon a better one, but the Man City players moaned enough for it to be disallowed.
