S.S.R.
Looking more like his old self.
AyeDubbleYoo
He was quite good today but I'm not sure if he actually breaks up enough attacks to justify his selection ahead of Anita, who is much better in possession. I don't like those situations where he's ahead of Cabaye. That said, the midfield is functioning well in general so can't really complain.
Mr. Snrub
Been the best holding midfielder in the league for the past month without a shadow of a doubt.
Tiresias
Lack of Mapou meant there was a bigger gap between Cheik and the defense today imo and resulted in some shakey moments where they broke beyond him and he looked at sea. Largely good though, very happy to see him back in form.
Newcastle Fan
Still frightens me when he has the ball but its been like this since he joined, starting to look more and more like his old self.

AyeDubbleYoo
I thought he was pretty unlucky to get booked.
The College Dropout
I thought he was pretty unlucky to get booked. Was something like his 4th foul in 30 minutes tbf.
Mr. Snrub
I thought he was pretty unlucky to get booked. It was a joke. It's easy said, but the ref gave them everything. They should have ended the match with 9 men.
jdckelly
I thought he was pretty unlucky to get booked. Was something like his 4th foul in 30 minutes tbf. he's learning then, usually he gets booked after 2 fouls. He actually does seem to have learned to keep himself in check to a point considering he only has 3 yellows so far
The College Dropout
Most of his fouls are petty. Great at killing the sting of opposition attacks mind.
Beren
Another good display. Feel quite confident in those moments when midfielders try to swarm him while he's shielding the ball lately.
alexf
Not quite as good as he has been in other games recently. Give him the armband back seems to really focus his game.
Varadi
I'm a big fan of Tiote - love watching him dominate the midfield like he did today.
Segun Oluwaniyi
I thought he was pretty unlucky to get booked. I thought he should have been booked within the first ten minutes. His first foul was a cynical one to prevent a break from Sessegnon. That's is fine though. Cynical fouling to protect the defence is part of the description for his role. Belfast Mags
Played well I thought, few scary moments, but thats Chieck for you. Getting back to his old form which is good to see
Chicken Dancer
Class again. Wanted rid of him in the summer, indispensable now. Definitely one of the first names in the starting line up at the minute, if not the first.
Dokko
Never had any doubt he was a good player worth keeping. Was all in his head, just needed brining down a peg or three and get back to basics.
Dr Venkman
He wasn't great against WBA tbh, too much dicking about and attempting to pass it over ten yards.
DJ_NUFC
I think the team overall seemed a little too laidback today. Even the commentators mentioned the lack of intensity and urgency that was present in our last 2 home games. Oh well, maybe simply the thought of participating in next year's Europa League tired them out? Cheeky anti-Pards comments aside, if our players looked laidback, the WBA players, barring the opening 10 mins of the second half, looked like they were lying in tanning beds, fulfilling the middle letter of GTL to the fullest. Elliottman
He wasn't great against WBA tbh, too much dicking about and attempting to pass it over ten yards. Aye, there were signs of last years tiote creeping back in.
TRon
He wasn't great against WBA tbh, too much dicking about and attempting to pass it over ten yards. Some of his passing was really good though. he's playing the ball much quicker and simpler for the most part, I would think his possession stats yesterday were probably the best out of our 11 out there. Aye, but given his return to form and the fact that those things that ruined his game for over a year have started to show again, small cause for concern imo. He needs to be told (and reminded constantly) what to do by the coaching team and the other players.
