Pardew made his point by sticking the pair in the reserves, which with the benefit of hindsight was perhaps not the best move. Things have not gone well for Pardew since. Dave
Funnily enough, despite the fact that most of us seem pretty against Pardew as another of Ashley's cronies, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him screwed over by Ashley and Llambias sooner rather than later. Transfer funds, control over decisions, going back on agreements over staff, something. They'll fuck him and hang him out to dry even quicker knowing they don't have to pay him compensation etc.

cubaricho
It's still just mind boggling. The one thing this club needed above all else was stability and Hughton was bring that in spades. Guess Ashley couldn't handle it.
Guest Mantis
weren't we once in a similar position with Redknapp and at the 11th hour he realised we didn't want him and he opted not to join us? Fingers crossed he has checked in here. On a separate unrelated point, there seems to be a few folk here who a) dont sleep (understandable at moment) and b) must get nowt done at work for posting on here, me included. Reminds me of the ending to Carlito's Way tbh

Interpolic
Its the 'experience' line that hurts the most like Well they just made that up after the event, didn't they? Remember that they have a track record of lying. But yes, I agree that it's an insult to Chris Hughton. It was probably designed to be insulting. toontownman
To think it was only a couple of years ago I was sick to the teeth at the thought of appointing corrupt Harry. I guess it is possible Pardew might keep us in the premiership long enough for Ashley to sell up, but May isnt that far away.

Guest magpie99
Pardew is not the ideal appointment but I seem to remember the moans and groans on here 18 months ago when CH was appointed and Shearer was ignored. Suffice to say, under current circumstances of what a managers contract would be at NUFC with a low basic and bonus related, no money to spend and a history of chaos and little say in transfer/loan arrangments, staff appointments and supporter unrest, there wouild not be many takers for the job. Pardew is probably the best of a bad bunch. Hell, it is rumoured we even considering the lad who is managing Exeter City for gods sake. My only hope for the future is Ashley sells the club before we descend into oblivion. I understand the Emir of Qatar is interested in buying a PL club with Spurs, Everton and ourselves touted as possibilities. Lets all pray to God, Allah and Buddah that he selects us and we can remove these terminal tumours from our club once and for all.

Lets all pray to God, Allah and Buddah that he selects us and we can remove these terminal tumours from our club once and for all. The point is that they didn't need to sack Hughton. The second point is that trying to justify Pardew's appointment on the basis of "well if we're looking to bring someone in on the mega-cheap, he's probably the best we could hope for" is daft, as we shouldn't be looking to scrimp on the most important job at the club. Don't offer up any excuses for these arseholes, not even to try and rationalise it to yourself. That way apathy lies. Stay fucking angry, at least until season ticket renewal time.
