James Tavernier joins Rangers

He had a good game again tonight and should be challenging for a first team spot in a years time if he keeps on learning.  He’s a kid and will make mistakes and will hopefully learn from them and become a better player for it.  I’ve seen him play for the reserves where he looked a prospect and he’s getting better all of the time.

He has surely benefited from playing over 50 full professional matches in his career already. Him being further away from the first team has been a help to his career whereas the likes of Vuckic, Ferguson, Sammy etc have been sitting on the fringes of the squad. Mind, he also seems less injury prone than the latter 3.

My MOTM tonight, looked solid defensively and contributed a lot offensively too. Very promising, he's not too far off a start in the PL imo. I reckon he'll be challenging for a first team place come the start of next season.

Hope we see more of him this season (with the Europa League in mind, I think we will :)).

Keep it up Tav

His loans have been excellent for him.

Vuckic and Sammy could do with loans, but the weakness of the squad means they have to stay for the moment to provide back up. Hopefully Paul Dummett will be getting similar good experience up at St Mirren at present.

It would be ideal if we could loan some of our fringe players out to local teams so they are still part of our setup and can train with us for at least part of the week.

Not sure what the rules are on loans these days but if we could get a few out on month/s loans it would be handy.

Definitely agree, well that and the fact Vuckic, Ferguson and Sammy have been very unlucky with injuries by comparison.
