Ronaldo
Are you saying you'd rather have Leon Best up front alongside HBA than Defoe? No, i said i'd rather have Best and Ben Arfa up front than Defoe and Ba. If you asked me, would I rather buy Defoe or stick with Best and give him a chance, i'd probably go with the latter. Defoe is past his best, would cost a bomb and probably deliver little.
Shayno
There is no way we would get value for money on Defoe and I agree he is on the decline, but to say he is worse than Best, who is still unproven at this level is laughable.
Incognito
But in that position, ahead of HBA,I agree with Hans and Ronaldo that he'd be better suited than a slightly past his best Defoe who works best off a target man.
JH
I'd rather play Carlton Cole off HBA.
Incognito
Though I'm sure we all agree we want Best to be 3rd or 4th choice come next season.

Stifler
I wouldn't mind Defoe, I still think he has 2-3 good years left in him, the thing is though Spurs would want a fortune for him and his wage demands would be pretty high as well.
themanupstairs
Defoe says he wants first team football, him and Demba Ba as our new strikeforce? We could construct a better strikeforce with the players we have now, if they were fit. Yes, of course we could. You won't name them though, because they're just in your head. Defoe is better than all of our strikers, full stop. I'd rather have Best and Ben Arfa leading the attack than Jermain Defore and Demba Ba any day of the week. I suppose i've also dreamt up the fact that Defoe's managed a pitiful 4 goals this season in a team superior to ours. Time to do your research before spouting the same old rubbish. Rather have Defoe and Best up front with HBA right behind slipping through balls into them all day long
Consortium of one
Best has opened my eyes, he's better than I thought. However, he does seem to be injured a lot.
Ameritoon
Defoe would be useless. He's scored aboue four league goals this season. No use wasting money on someone like that.
AyeDubbleYoo
I don't think Defoe has suddenly become a bad player, I would welcome him here for a modest fee. He's still one of the sharpest finishers I've seen. Although we might be going for younger players.

Granted, he scored a few, but if he is our main striker come September I will be worried.

There are better options out there.
AyeDubbleYoo
I hadn't actually realised Defoe had appeared 21 times for Spurs in the league this season. Not sure how many of those are as a sub though.
Dave
Signing Defoe would be the striking equivalent of Stephen Ireland. He's scored 12 goals this season in all comps, 28 last season.

That's right, it's Everton and Newcastle! Every single time.
Ketsbaia
Defor is an upgrade, but I'd rather have a bigger upgrade. Two, ideally.

Incognito
Defoe wouldn't be an upgrade if as I suspect we play with 1 striker with HBA behind.

dinotheprehistoricgeordie
Defoe is a good striker but not worth what Spurs would want for him. Also he'd also want an England internationals wages, so better than Best but not worth the price. Can't see Demba Ba going for cheap either, West Ham bought him for around 7 million apparently. Not sure if he's worth a gamble with his possible dodgy knee.
TherealnorthernTOON
defoe, nzogbia, mbengue and ireland, I would be very pleased if that came through the doors this summer. If it ment no one left. Adds quality to the side and depth.
James
I think Defoe's drop in form is very much mental and tactical rather than down to his actual ability.
