Guest firetotheworks
Off the top of your head, can you think of a player who has been described as 'The Next [insert footballing legend here]' and actually ended up being anywhere near as good, or even becoming better? It seems to be a description that's reserved for players that never get anywhere near the same level as the player they're compared to.

It's funny thinking about Aimar being Messi's favourite player as well.

Aye, it's weird because their careers ovelapped but when Messi was still a dwarf only growing in age in Argentina, before he went to Barca, Aimar (and Saviola) absolutely dominated for River Plate. Superior Acuña
Rules changed, it's why there's only one player in the centre now, no need for 2. WHAT. When and why?
stlouismag
June 1 of this year. Because 99% of kickoffs are a dink pass three feet and then a pass back anyway. [edited to remove the stupid Tapatalk signature - got a new phone. Soz.]

triggs
Under what circumstances could a player play international football for two different countries? If it was only a friendly for the first country. If the country they are from becomes independent in the course of their career

joeyt
There's something about player with Kosovo links being capped by Switzerland (and other countries) and they'll be able to play for Kosovo internationally because they chose to represent Switzerland before Kosovo became a full FIFA/UEFA member
Mole_Toonfan
The whole friendly doesn't count rule is complete bullshit btw, as far as i'm concerned Costa should have been locked in to only play for Brazil once he played the friendly. Also tbh he probably would have had more success playing for them on a individual level.
henke
Pascal Chimbonda played half a dozen games for Guadeloupe, then was capped by France later in his career.
Kaizero
Pascal Chimbonda played half a dozen games for Guadeloupe, then was capped by France later in his career. Guadelope is not a member of FIFA, it's the same reason why some full international Norwegians have turned out for the Sapmi national team.

And Corsica who Remy Cabella has played for. They sometimes play proper national teams in friendlies.
