Guest firetotheworks
Off the top of your head, can you think of a player who has been described as 'The Next [insert footballing legend here]' and actually ended up being anywhere near as good, or even becoming better? It seems to be a description that's reserved for players that never get anywhere near the same level as the player they're compared to. Messi. 100% of left footed Argentine forwards = the 'New Maradona'. Ah god aye, of course. I suppose that throws in the other Argentinians that were given that description, Ortega and Aimar. It's funny thinking about Aimar being Messi's favourite player as well.

Aye, it's weird because their careers ovelapped but when Messi was still a dwarf only growing in age in Argentina, before he went to Barca, Aimar (and Saviola) absolutely dominated for River Plate. Superior Acuña
Rules changed, it's why there's only one player in the centre now, no need for 2. WHAT. When and why?
stlouismag
June 1 of this year. Because 99% of kickoffs are a dink pass three feet and then a pass back anyway. [edited to remove the stupid Tapatalk signature - got a new phone. Soz.]

triggs
Under what circumstances could a player play international football for two different countries? If it was only a friendly for the first country. If the country they are from becomes independent in the course of their career
Hanshithispantz
Think Brazil had to agree to let him go too though.
joeyt
There's something about player with Kosovo links being capped by Switzerland (and other countries) and they'll be able to play for Kosovo internationally because they chose to represent Switzerland before Kosovo became a full FIFA/UEFA member
Mole_Toonfan
The whole friendly doesn't count rule is complete bullshit btw, as far as i'm concerned Costa should have been locked in to only play for Brazil once he played the friendly. Also tbh he probably would have had more success playing for them on a individual level.
henke
Pascal Chimbonda played half a dozen games for Guadeloupe, then was capped by France later in his career.
Kaizero
Pascal Chimbonda played half a dozen games for Guadeloupe, then was capped by France later in his career. Guadelope is not a member of FIFA, it's the same reason why some full international Norwegians have turned out for the Sapmi national team.

And Corsica who Remy Cabella has played for. They sometimes play proper national teams in friendlies.
Guest neesy111
Should boots like these be banned? I think they offer zero protection if someone was to event stand on a players foot hard.

Bimpy474
I know boots are lighter and do seem to offer less protection. I'm still playing and they have changed but if someone caught you on the top of your foot 25 years ago, it hurt like a fucker just as it does today, it's not like the boots were made mithril back in the day. henke
How far down the leagues do you have to go, in England, until you start seeing artificial pitches? I was just thinking about how there's at least one in most European top flights now. I think they are still banned in the football league. A few grounds in Scottish professional football have them. They're allowed in the vanarama league cause I seen a game on telly with one. We're they actually banned in the football league? Oldham had to get rid of theirs whey were promoted to the top flight but Preston continued to play on one for years after. It'd be interesting to see Maidstone or whoever get promoted, if they need to dig it up.
Guest chopey
Daft Question ...............When was the last time Newcastle United were "In Form" ?
M4
Daft Question ...............When was the last time Newcastle United were "In Form" ? There was a period in the 14-15 season before Christmas where Pardew miraculously had a series of wins after an awful start to the season. Basically saved us from relegation. The other obvious answer in from March 2012 where the whole Cabaye-BenArfa-Demba-Cisse thing clicked and we won 6 in a row.

We won four in a row around November time of 13/14 as well (Krul/Mbiwa defensive wall at WHL). Halcyon days.
Bowie
Why are football boots so brightly coloured or black? I've always thought football boots should be green to match the grass like camouflage. I remember when I was a kid and Puma released a pair that were green with a pattern of grass all over them, I thought it was genius. Surely you don't want the defender to know where your feet (the ball) is going?
SEMTEX
but how will you know where your own feet are? you'd end up falling over a lot imo.
