Smal
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sylvain-marveaux-another-chance-shine-10164117 Chron reckon McClaren's told him he'll get a chance in the first team this year. Could be a very useful player in our system. Bring him on when Ayoze's knackered?
Hanshithispantz
Ironic as it's probably the only time we don't really need him. Unless I'm completely wrong about him and he can play left wing.
sempuki
Interested to see how he does - it's been a while since I've seen him play.
Newcastle Fan
He can move the ball around and string one or two passes together, which is more than what we can say about most our team.
Dave
The more attacking options we have the better. Also, competition for places is a good thing despite what NUFC would have us believe.
mozy
Personally don't think he's anywhere near good enough, and can only play as a #10 without being a total liability. But perhaps the new coaching staff can get something out of him, who knows.
Fenham Mag
When has Marveaux been an absolute liability?
Mick
When has Marveaux been an absolute liability? When he's injured, other than that I'm struggling.
Guest reefatoon
Short term memories here. Every single time he played on the left he was diabolical.
relámpago blanco
Hrs not a left winger though. Hes best central or as an am. To be honest he cant play central in the current system and hes not going to get in ahead of Perez
AyeDubbleYoo
He's not ideal wide because he lacks the athleticism. Could possibly do it in a 4-2-3-1 for a while I suppose.
NEEJ
A 'complete liability' and 'diabolical'. What? Unimpressive at times, maybe, but that's just mental.
Guest reefatoon
No it isn't. He is a player that seems to get better and better the more we don't see him. He's crap.
Sho Time
He's a talented player and shown it in a few games here - very inconsistent which is to prtty much to be expected when you have as many injury problems as he does. I don't have an issue with him being here as a squad player, although him and Siem seem to be here for no other reason than to make sure the physio's earn their wages. Not that it's really necessary...
AyeDubbleYoo
Think the worst you could say about him is that he fails to grab the game by the scruff of the neck. When he gets the ball and is able to do his thing he's fairly handy.
KaKa
I think Marveaux and Riviere will benefit from a more positive coaching staff. Excited to see them come back into the fold, and hopefully make some contribution going forward.
Hanshithispantz
"Better every time he doesn't play" I had missed that one tbh.

mrmojorisin75
I think Marveaux and Riviere will benefit from a more positive coaching staff. Excited to see them come back into the fold, and hopefully make some contribution going forward. Riviere looks like he'll never finish a chance as long as he lives but as long as he's being paired with Perez or De Jong I'd prefer him to this version of Cisse because he'll run the channels, stretch defences and make space for Wijnaldum, Perez or whoever to exploit. Cisse looks well and truly done in the PL.
triggs
Why is everybody deciding Cisse is done all of a sudden? His last game was just a typical Cisse performance. Missed a couple of chances which he generally does and might have scored if he wasn't taken off at half time. Very similar to his performance on the opening day actually
mrmojorisin75
Done in the sense that he's fucking useless for us as the rest of the team can't function without a presence up top.

triggs
Done in the sense that he's fucking useless for us as the rest of the team can't function without a presence up top. Agree that he is poor in general play but I don't see any rapid decline in him. He's just the same as he has been the last two or three years to me
Sho Time
He contributes absolutely nothing to the team play and is completely disinterested when on the pitch. Aye his finishing is decent - completely dependant on whether he's feeling like it/confident (something he definitely is not atm) - but he's also capable of missing sitters and I'd much rather see Ayoze and Mitro getting game time who are both also competent finishers as well as 100x better footballers with far more presence on a game. DJ_NUFC
At the very least, Cisse needs a timeout and needs to fight for his place. Far too many of our players have been resting on their laurels due to complacency and no squad depth.
