Gabriel Obertan signs for Anzhi

WTF is going on here.  Obertan actually links up well with Haidara and the left and created some plays

In contrast, Janmaat and Sissoko did absolutely f*** all on the right and failed some simple link ups

Comments here are f***ing harsh / biased.  Obertan is s*** but no way he should be criticized for today's performance.

Must be a joke, otherwise I suggest going back to watching tennis.

Imagine looking at that game and thinking Sissoko did absolutely f*** all :spit:

Almost as bad as the mongs on twitter thinking Colback was MOTM

Great cross, f***ing clueless s**** for the rest of the game.

Rubbish. Absolutely despise him as a player but he played well today.

Garbage first half. Second half he was better. Barely a passing grade in my books. The counter attack he fucked up as well..

Best I've seen him since that European game a couple of years ago.

He played better in a few games last season. It pains me to complain about a winger's defensive contribution but for what I presume was meant to be a hard working winger he is absolutely braindead defensively

Mongs are normally impressed by players who run around and put in a couple of blocks.

Obertan's defensive tracking in the second half was an absolute embarrassment for a professional footballer.

Haidara was shocking today but don't think he could have been helped less by someone playing in front of him (at least defensively, they actually linked up well once or twice going forward).

In the lead up to Southampton's equaliser, he made a very half-hearted challenge for a 50-50 ball. Basically, he was scared of getting hurt. Okay, it didn't directly lead to the goal, but it was a chance to stop their attack and launch a break, and he didn't take it.

There are just too many moments like that from this player.

Obertan should have come off around 60 minutes, his game had peaked. We needed to get Aarons on to keep their Right side honest and keep them guessing/worried at the unpredictability of Aarons.

Obertan was decent today I thought. Haidara on the other hand...

Obertan made no attempt to help Haidara....Left Haidara trying to cover vs 2 Southampton attackers continuously.

HBA likes this.

I laughed at this.

But Obertan offers so much more defensively usually!!!

I find it hard to believe neither Ayoze nor Aarons got on the pitch today :(

This is one of my main gripes with today. Trying not to put too much in to it yet, but they're just miles above Obertan.

This

and to drive at pace at a full back who'd been booked. I thought Obertan had a decent game but not having a go at a full back booked early on was his mistake and the teams tactically. Spent too much time getting the ball from Haidara with his back to  the full back and being held up rather than getting the defender face up.
