alexf
With that line David Craig kept coming out with as well (blatantly being fed it from the club) that we feel we can get more bargains in the January window. A load of bollocks by the way as it's usually seen as the opposite but anyway that word BARGAIN again. All they care about is picking up some cheap players whether we need them in a position or not. Decky
Ashley would take 17th place every year so his Sports Direct brand can get free advertisement on a global stage like the Premier League. We spent fuck all last summer and literally nothing this summer. He's risking it, seeing if we can see out the season at no extra cost. If it looks like we're in trouble, buy in January. If we're fine carry on and save the cash. That philosophy will never work in this league, especially if he is picking up managers from the scrap heap in League One and a Director of Football from the floor of his local boozer. The club is a shambles, and I honestly think Ashley is going no where, why would he give up free Sports Direct advertising in the Premier League? duo
Ashley has managed to suck all the hope out of this football club. Once he's finished well be left for the buzzards.

TheHoob
Ashley has managed to suck all the hope out of this football club. Once he's finished well be left for the buzzards. Still think this is the saddest part of everything at the moment, everyone has had the fight taken out of them and loads seem more than happy to accept mediocrity. If people at the club had been spouting some of the shit they do now 10 years ago there would have been hell on. Not that i'm blaming anyone for it, I can't help but feel apathetic about the club most of the time nowadays.
54
The thing that annoys me most is two seasons ago when we finished 5th we were in a really good position to push on, all we needed was a few quality signing, and we could have been challenging for the top 4. Now after two summers of inactivity and one winter of signings (because we were in trouble (I have no doubt if we were not in trouble the players would not have come in)), we are now so far behind even the top seven, its not even funny, and we are all just resigned to the fact the mediocrity will do, and left wondering at what could have been. pedro111
The thing that makes Ashleys whole tenure even worse is the fact that there despite the constant stream of shit we have been served up are a few anomalies to cloud peoples judgement like the 5th place season and the fact that we do actually have some really good players. Its like he is purposely giving us glimpses of what could be then he snatches it back from our grasp at the last second like a dog after that juicy piece of meat. Depressing. Die fat cunt die. Mick
I think Ashley does miss Llambias and that's why he's staying away. It's that or he expects a shit storm over the Kinnear appointment.

nufc4eva
Why cant this cunt and his cronies just be honest. If we have no money just be up front with the fans and set expectations. If we have to sell to buy then just tell us that. Why drag out the transfer window spouting lie after lie and winding up the fans. If I was told at beginning of window I wouldnt like it, but would probably accept it if they told us reasons behind it instead of playing this game. So frustrating that we dont want to improve as a team
Skirge
Surely if he was selling the buyer would want to buy within the transfer window ? http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/allo-allo-ashley-to-sell-newcastle-to-his-ukrainian-double/

So frustrating that we dont want to improve as a team As soon as we got promoted they did. That statement where they said the plan was bring through youth players, sell at profit, not spend more than we bring in from transfers and compete for top 10. It's fucking soul destroying to think even with the additional income that he's sticking with it, but the club told us 3 years ago this would happen.
