His best mate is Samir Nasri, also seems to be friends with Karim Benzema. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ben+arfa+nasri&tbm=isch Two players to buy in the summer... Flip
http://www.thejournal.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/newcastle-united-1-crystal-palace-6867326 Like Pardew, John Carver is one of those who has grown frustrated at Ben Arfa in the months since he signed. It is hard not to feel sympathy for those who work with him day in and day out, who probably witness a player of extraordinary talent occasionally failing to maximise it. But on days like Saturday, they can be match winners. “He is a maverick type player,” United’s assistant boss admitted of a player who has been coping with the illness of his mother recently. “I cast my mind back to when Chris Waddle played. You would think looking at him, sometimes he was up for it, sometimes he was not. (You would think) was he in the mood? “Hatem is like that. He is a flair player. But you do get a sense that you know where he is before the game has started. In the dressing room, you know if he is focussed or not and today I thought he was really focussed. Before the game, he was concentrating on what he had to do. “He actually listened to the instructions when he went on and did what we asked him to do.” So if you decide by the way he's in the dressing room whether he's having a good game or not, and he looked fired up on Saturday, why didn't he start then? Fuck off John Carver. Much more likeable under Sir Bobby no wonder Bellamy wanted to beat the fuck out of him.

huss9
difficult to manage? like romario and bellamy? there's a skill to man management which pardew lacks.
The College Dropout
difficult to manage? like romario and bellamy? there's a skill to man management which pardew lacks. Aye but there's no doubt these are difficult players and great managers have had issues. Romario and Bellamy are full-on loons.

Guest hatem garrincha
He was good mate with Simpson. His best mate in the squad is Sissoko. Tiote always respected him. Colo seems to appreciate him too. I don't buy that story of HBA boycott in the dressing room. And if true, Pardew is a f***er when he speaks about it. Elliottman
That never happened. This needs to be cleared up because everyone i've spoke too said it never happened apart from that one time when Tiote lumped it into the box.
Flip
That never happened. We all want him to have the ball the most, but they were definitely not ignoring him just because every pass didn't go to the right side. He made a nice little cameo, has to start tonight. Wallace
I thought there were a few occasions when Ben Arfa was in loads of space and they passed to a more congested area of the pitch. Doesn't mean to say they were deliberately not passing to him though.

Doesn't mean to say they were deliberately not passing to him though. I think that's more down to having terrible ball-spreaders on the pitch. Our best player in the sense is Anita and we've all seen he's not great at opening the game up that way. He like to play it safer with short passes and changing sides easily. I like Anita, but he's no creative midfielder and if a creative midfielder, striker and CB aren't bought for next season we're absolutely screwed. He's not fit enough to start; that's the crux of most if this. He should be. If he does start he'll be far less effective than coming on with 20 to go. Doesn't mean to say they were deliberately not passing to him though. I would agree with that - whether it was a deliberate shunning is not entirely clear. I thought they seemed slightly more reluctant to pass to him on occasions.

Bringing him on with 20 minutes or less left is part of the problem though, it leads to him forcing the game too much, rather than having time to work his way into the game. If he doesn't start he should be brought on with 30 minutes or more remaining like he was against Palace, even better just do it at half time..
