Ketsbaia
To be honest I think we'll be lucky to get through this transfer window without someone making an approach for our Director of Football. I mean, he is the best one in the business right? Hopefully he's turned off his mobile so his head can't be turned like Cabaye's. He has all the managers on speed dial, along with the (non-car) AA. Respected by all.

Chris_R
To be honest I think we'll be lucky to get through this transfer window without someone making an approach for our Director of Football. Sadly the only person coming after him will be the local landlord with his extortionate bar bill, the drunken old c***. That's why we can't sign anyone, his expenses bill must be f***ing enormous. Pilko
New angle on the failed bid - bid accepted but player wouldn't agree to the move.
Chris_R
Yes, bid an acceptable amount for someone you know doesn't want to come. Genius. That way the board come out of it OK, they showed ambition. It was the player who wouldn't come, we did all we could.... They'd shit their pants if he said he'd sign. merlin
We'd still have people on here defending them if that happens. They defend them because not to do so would be to admit that you support a club whose owner/management take the p-ss and treat you like idiots....nobody wants to admit that unless they are prepared to face reality....many NUFC fans aren't. Ronaldo
They aren't treating me like an idiot. Till they fuck off they're not getting fuck all out of me and that goes for my family and most friends too.

thomas
tbh I think the point of their shitty deadline day bids is a continuation of their shitty buying policy in general, not some attempt to appease anyone (i.e. the fans, who they don't care about and seek to annoy at every turn anyway) by appearing to be ambitious. That is to say there's nothing extraordinary about those bids at all; they panic but refuse to change the parameters of their bidding to match the urgency of the situation. Any underbidding on deadline day would have been an underbid on any other day of the transfer window as well. They're idiots, not hannibal lecter-ish adversaries. Tisd09
Can't believe I haven't learned yet. I wake up, first thing I do is check this place "just in case something has happened" why do I do this to myself. Thank fuck once I get it to work I've got the Headmaster (I work in a school) going through inset with us so no access to media for a few hours. Joe will get something done in those few hours won't he. By the ways who's camping outside Greggs for the exclusive new signing in Greggs photo? ExiledGeordie
We'll sign nobody and "go with what we've got" and then maybe try and get someone in in Jan when player x is in the last 4 days of his contract so they don't have to pay anything. aussiemag
L’Equipe claim that Italian club Torino are most likely to sign Sebastian Corchia from Sochaux on a loan deal with an option to buy. Corchia was quoted saying: ‘ ”This is a club with good depth and has a good group with a good project. Yes, I want to go there.’ We should be in for him for some depth. Good young right back. TRon
GFN say we will get Ayew if Cabaye is sold today. But according to Pardew we don't need to sell Cabaye to buy. Ho ho ho.
ikri
Don't know how we got Remy in but thank fuck we did, otherwise we'd be fighting a relegation battle again this season. Yeah I was genuinely shocked it actually happened. Just need him to stay fit and out of jail. With our luck it's inevitable now that he'll go to jail. Even better, the club will use it as vindication for only signing him on loan.
Big Geordie
08.05: So, an agreement has been reached last night for the sale of Florian Thauvin to Marseille from Lille for a fee of €15m overall.
